It's their elections. It would be presumptive, arrogant, and pompous for an American citizen to go on a British forum, for sake of argument, and tell them what's what with their decisions.

Now,a far as Americans talking about foreign leaders, here on FR, that's quite another matter.

When one of the 3rd party's give up on all the pessimism, they might get started, but much like that insufferable pessimist Pat Buchanan, it's not in their game plan

Well I have four cars and two homes, but at least I know you need someone to help the big airplanes land on the ground safely.

Confession is good for the soul.

I was not aware of the requirement of typing those confessions for all the internet to see.

Been to those threads... a woman armed is a woman who will have her 'virtue' intact.

No, that means you're learning the liberal media's art of dissembling and misinterpreting and ... let's call it what it is - lying.

Welcome to the reality of Cochise County, Arizona.

It's a minor miracle this story got out. We don't have any local TV stations and only a couple of local hack reporters.

Interesting.

Might I ask for a cite on these rules, or are they just something you came up with on your own (i.e., "opinion")?

I've never heard anything like this before, so I'd like to have chapter and verse on it before I go passing it along to anyone else, you see. (Or acting on it myself, for that matter. I'm quite cautious about inadvertent violations as of late.)

A further request for clarification:

You stated:

[556] It is the height of arrogance and pomposity, for you to talk about a system you clearly don't understand and have NO part in!

and

[567] I don't care, what you think. It's absolutely NONE of your business anyway

I must confess that it does seem to me, from my reading of those two statements, that your objection is not recognizably consistent with the reciprocal of your reply to my original query. (Your reply is quoted below as a courtesy).

It's their elections. It would be presumptive, arrogant, and pompous for an American citizen to go on a British forum, for sake of argument, and tell them what's what with their decisions.

Now,a far as Americans talking about foreign leaders, here on FR, that's quite another matter.

I hope you can see where I'm having trouble lining up your reply with my query. It seems like your earlier statements (which prompted my query) indicate a displeasure on your part with any foreigners sharing any commentary vis-a-vis domestic (American) politics, period.

For instance, assertions like, "absolutely NONE of your business anyway" do not seem (to me, at least) to be rooted in any particular venue, but rather seem to be speaking in an absolute "thou shalt not" sense, regardless of venue, with the sole criteria being one of, "is this speaker an American, or is this speaker a foreigner?"

While I am a writer by trade, I do not claim infallible comprehension of what others may have intended to communicate, thus, my request for clarification.

In any event, I would also appreciate some sourcing for your claims (hopefully after you clarify precisely what it is that you claim ;-) ), for the reasons stated in my 673. TIA.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Every vote matters, what if there are hundreds of thousands with the same thought...hanoi john wins. Florida will be replayed over again.

IF you don't vote you have NO say in your government. Simple as that.

We have been sitting and gripping about the liberal judge that refused to incarcerate Carlie's killer...and you want to sit home or not vote? This election is about the war on terrorism and about who occupies the Supreme Court for the next 30 years. You think things were bad under slick wille, you haven't seen anything yet. We griped about janet reno, imagine the likes of her on the Supreme Court.

IF Bush is sacked so to will many GOP congress critters, people tend to vote straight ticket. There won't be a GOP controled congress to gridlock hanoi john's extremism...after all he votes to the left of teddy.

IF to many sit home then we are ALL condemned to hanoi john as our next president by default!

You are correct it doesn't make a difference.

Hubby is a Air Force Vietnam era vet, he did his tour of duty on Santa Rosa Island in FL and on Okinawa doing A & E for the Mace Missile.

Not all who served during the Vietnam war went to Nam.

I had to hold my nose and vote for Lamar Alexander, he sure beat the socialist that was running against him.
