Katie Couric is shills for Clinton. SICK.

This morning the perky one Katie Couric wore a red outfit. She proclaimed that she was wearing it because she once had seen Laura Bush wear red, and that Mrs. Bush was leading a crusade against breast cancer. Am I the only one that smells an alterior motive here? Katie wore black after the 2000 election, black again after the 2002 mid term elections, and black the morning after Saddam was caught.

It must pain Couric to support a real man. She's been forced into a strange situation. Most recently Couric grilled Terry McAuliffe and Ted Kennedy. To those who follow this closely, its quite obvious that perky Katie is on the Clinton bandwagon. Couric has been a consistent cheerleader of Jethro and the Beast for years now. She isn't about to stop now. Hillary doesn't want any of the Democrats to win this year because that would mean she wouldn't be able to run in 2004.

When Clinton appeared on NBC’s Today after returning from a trip to Afghanistan and Iraq, Katie Couric’s first question didn’t consider the possibility that maybe things in Iraq look better on the ground than they do from afar on TV, as many other visitors have observed. Instead, her first question to Clinton: “What are your impressions of the situation in Iraq? How bad is it, in your view?"

On the December 3rd edition of the today show Couric asked James Carville if Democrats had 'sold their soul to the devil' by being too conservative. Couric also revealed her feminist side in the November issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, suggesting she originally had no plans for children “because I came of age at the height of the feminist movement.” Plus, she disclosed that her feminist mother “was a homemaker and Planned Parenthood volunteer growing up” who, when AIDS first appeared in the press, tried to capitalize on the malady as she “bought a lot of stock in condom companies.”

Couric next stated that there was a "steady drumbeat" [hmm, could that be an insensitive stereotype, offensive to Native Americans? ;-)] of criticism of the the President's Iraq policy. And what evidence does Katie offer in support of her "steady drumbeat" claim? Why, Senate floor footage of diving and swimming champion Edward Kennedy (D-Chappaquiddick).

Another time, Katie surmised that, given Laura Bush's adroit handling of the odious Jacques Chirac in the famous hand-kissing incident, we might be seeing more of The First Lady on the campaign trail. "Some would say that Laura and Maria would do a better job in office than their husbands!", throwing in a mandatory "just kidding" to preserve her pristine reputation for journalistic objectivity! Russert agreed.

Couric completed a segment on the news that an FBI bug had been discovered in the office of Dem Philadelphia Mayor John Street. Street's administration has been rocked by scandals, including accusations that it fixed parking tickets for allies and awarded a $13.6 million contract to a firm linked to the mayor's brother. An aide to Street has been charged with threatening a landlord who rented space to the campaign of his Republican opponent, Sam Katz.

A balanced approach would have included guests from both sides of the issue. But true to her style, Katie only invited in the Mayor himself. Not only did Katie offer up the traditional softballs she reserves for Dem guests, she resorted to her favorite technique to push her own views under a very paltry guise of journalism.

Twice Couric cited her favorite source, the all-knowing: "some." Thus, stated Couric, "some" have suggested that the FBI's investigation was politicaly motivated, part of a Republican effort to bring down Street, who is involved in a bitter re-election campaign against Republican Sam Katz. And later in the interview, Couric, always eager to throw gasoline on the flames of racial division, asserted that "some" have suggested that the investigation was racially motivated, against the African-American Street.

And who could forget when Arold won the California governership. The first words out of Courics' mouth "polls show that 2/3 of the people feel Arnold didn't adequately explain his plans. What does that say about his leadership or his ability to communicate with the people?" Next: "Arnold must present a budget by January 10th. How can he do it without cutting programs or raising taxes?"

And of course Katie hates the idea of letting taxpayers keep more of their money: "Wouldn't eliminating the recent tripling of the car tax wreak havoc?" Next question: "When does he propose to address the groping allegations? Many of the women have retained high-powered lawyers. How concerned about lawsuits, how big a distratcion will that be?

Katie Couric once joked about Rush Limbaugh’s reported addiction to pain killers. On the Today Show, the co-host of NBC’s Today offered this spiel: “When I do the Today show out here I get up at 2am because out here you have to be up and ready to go at 4 because it’s 7 in the east. So I was getting a little tired, but I feel actually good because I flew out here and Rush Limbaugh sat next to me on the plane. He gave me some vitamins.” She then spun her head to flip her hair as she smiled and yelped: “Whaa! It feels good!”

And who could forget the interview with Paul Bremer.

She did her best to land a couple punches, but didn't show her normal zest for the fight: "The US made the decision to release the graphic photos to demonstrate to Iraqis that Uday and Qusay were dead and convince them to stop resisting. But some people are concerned this will incite the resistance even more."

Replied Bremer: "It's possible it will cause a short-term uptick in resistance, but in long run it is good news, it will convince people Saddam regime is over, and we'll get more intelligence."

Katie: "The Bush administration is allowing video of bodies to be released today. Is the real key the capture or death of Saddam himself? Is the noose tightening?"

Bremer: "Yes, the noose is definitely tightenting, we have many of his top people. People will be convinced he's not coming back."

Couric: "I know that Bush administration's goal is to implement a nascent democracy. Where are you in the process?"

Bremer: "A Government Council was established 10 days ago. The next step is a constitutional conference, the third step is democratic elections. What isn't being reported in the media is that 85% of towns already have selected town councils that deal with local issues like water and electricity."

Couric: "All this is expensive. Oil revenues are not where you expected them to be. How are you going to pay for this?"

Bremer: "Terrorism has hurt oil facilities but we will get them back up and running. We're also freezing Saddam's assets and getting them back to Iraq, and American taxpayers will have to contribute."

Katie: "Doesn't the coalition have to have a more international face? From a PR aspect, wouldn't it be better for this not to be viewed as solely a US operation?"

Bremer: "We already have a dozen countries involved, and another dozen will become involved. We'd like more, but we are the sole superpower and we have the major responsibility, as we did in rebuilding Europe after WWII. That comes with the turf."

Couric: "44 servicemen have been killed since Pres. Bush announced the end of hostilities. Was that announcement premature?"

Bremer: "Pres. Bush announced the end of 'major combat operations,' not hostilities."

Katie interrupted: "Yes, but even so!"

Bremer: "We'll get Iraqi police and army involved. In any case, while our deepest sympathies go to families of those killed we will continue to go about our business."

Katie ended by saying: "You always look so put together and crisp," but then had the camera pan down to reveal he was wearing what looked like construction boots.Said Bremer: "I only wear them in combat zones and I consider Washington, DC to be that."

Katie Couric on Friday morning benevolently referred to MoveOn.org, the far-left anti-war group, simply as an organization “started by two Silicon Valley entrepreneurs frustrated by the political process.”

During a segment on the uranium from Africa controversy, Couric asked Tim Russert, as transcribed by MRC analyst Ken Shepherd: “As we look at background video, Tim, of an ad that's being put out by a group called MoveOn. It was started by two Silicon Valley entrepreneurs frustrated by the political process. This drumbeat will be heard more and more loudly, don't you think, in the weeks to come?”

Russert: “Well, we're involved in a presidential campaign. There's no doubt about it...”

And I could go on and on and on.....

The only demographics these morning network talkfests have are women in general, and men and women over the age of 65.

It's a short hop-and-a-skip from "fresh-faced" and "perky" to jowly and dumpy-looking. Katie is right about at the cusp, if not on the downhill side. Unfortunately, NBC will certainly replace her with another confused, politically correct mouse.

Absolutely correct, and unfortunately, a lot of votes.

Laura Bush was on all 3 networks this week on the same morning- can't remember which day- and was very clear about the heart attacks of women connection to the red clothing. Is Katie losing it that badly? Put her to work planning dance arrangements for Janet Jackson- Then they can both lie thru their teeth.....

yep..she is a true dem...weren't her ratings failing at the point in time she gleefully hopped onto the gurney and got "probed" in front of the whole world to try to get a ratings boost??

Since the dems are pushing the "gay" agenda so hard, I believe they really and truly prefer to be the probed rather than the prober.

I have to ask this, because I'm both intrigued by the notion and absence of screenshots regarding the woman...but how come no one has shots of the Katie the Red's hiney here showing the hammer and sickle tattoo? That was touted as such a seminal moment in journalism--Katie showing her butt on TV--and you can't find it ANYWHERE on the web!

I have to figure they're covering up the 'B.C. was here' autograph back there.
