And that was in a game against Canada on Thursday before just 1,500 people.

A game Tuesday in neighboring Guadalajara will determine whether the U.S. under-23 soccer team heads to the Athens Games.

"This is what it is all about," coach Glenn Myernick said. "You are 90 minutes away from being in the Olympics."

So you support these kids too then?

SAN DIEGO — Mexican teenagers have been crossing the border to attend school in America for years as the schools they attend collect more tax dollars for enrolling them.

The crossings were first documented back in 1993 when a former San Diego assemblyman videotaped students crossing the border and boarding a bus that took them to a U.S. school.

The illegal crossings for education are still a trend eleven years later. A Fox News crew recently watched while students left Southwest High School for the day and got on a trolley that took them down to the border where they crossed over to go home for the evening.

Parents in the Sweetwater School District are outraged because they say students are now forced to go to schools that are overcrowded, and they say they've begged the district to implement tougher enrollment standards but the district insists the problem isn't widespread.

The district counters that they have very stringent residency rules and require students to show proof of residency before being enrolled. But the district admits it receives $5,400 each year from the state for each student enrolled, which some parents contend is the real issue.

This thread is great for it shows the almost orgasmic animus some on FR have towards Mexicans and try to smear all with the actions of a few crazy soccer fans.

Don't forget about the millions of Mexican illegal aliens who have violated the laws of the United States. I think that may also have a wee bit to do with how some FReepers feel about Mexicans in general.

I bet you could find a job cleaning toilets tomorrow.

Actually, I end up cleaning our toilets at work (don't ask, I'm a neat freak and it is not my job). Our janitor is an 60 y/o old white fellow that works hard, but has too much to do to do it all. He needs his job, he has a grandson he is raising now. His wife has just had open heart surgery and his insurance is vital.

Now, this is odd, but I observe people's bathroom habits (ok, again I am a neat freak and I know who washes his hand after doing their duty). The Mexican population is not as bad as they legal counterpoints in writting on the walls and vandalism, but seem to be more apt to spit on the floors and not wash their hands. Also, few linger unlike their American co-employees.

But the basic point of this reply is that our Paw-Paw needs his job. He works hard and is a lovely man to know. Paw-Paw (as everyone calls him) wishes you would not count him as a nobody. Jobs are important, even toilet cleaning jobs.

No, they shouldn't be allowed in that school, but the problem happens also in other parts of the country in districts with good schools.

Native born Americans pull the same scam also(gasp).

That's funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you.

But it seems the MTV generation and those sitting at home collecting unemployment think those jobs are beneath them.

For someone who is decrying the broad brushing of Mexicans, you sure are using a helluva paint sprayer. Maybe you should do something about that beam in your eye.

Good Grief, I may not agree with Dane on this issue, but your nomination is ridiculous.

I nominate the opposite and I don't care if it gets a second or not.

A huzzah to Paw-Paw. I am not counting him as a nobody. The nobodies are the MTV generation and those sitting on their butts collecting unemployment, who think janitorial work is beneath them.
