And that was in a game against Canada on Thursday before just 1,500 people.

A game Tuesday in neighboring Guadalajara will determine whether the U.S. under-23 soccer team heads to the Athens Games.

"This is what it is all about," coach Glenn Myernick said. "You are 90 minutes away from being in the Olympics."

I think the reason that the MLS (and soccer in general) in the US has a problem is because of the marketing. Pro football is successful because there's lots of little breaks in the action. Perfect for advertising. That's what the companies want, time to put out their product in front of the consumer. Soccer doesn't afford that as well. The best they'll ever get is a little marquee in the corner of the TV screen or the announcer saying, "This portion of the match has been brought to you by XYZ company." JMHO. I love soccer, and hope it succeeds. The players are by far the most outstanding individuals as far as professional athletes go. They haven't been spoiled by the mega-bucks.

The Mexican crowd chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama!" as U.S. players left the field with a 2-0 victory.

Go ahead Dane. Throw up some more smoke and distraction.

Personally anyone that attempts to distract or divert the attention away from this absolute outrageous my enemy.

Why do you hate America Dane?

Why are you attempting to drag the English into this attack on America? Is your motive here to piss off enough people so this thread gets deleted? Is this your agenda Dane?

As I wrote on that thread, they haven't BEGUN to hear what we think, because I haven't called my congressman yet! :)

I'll be getting to that this week.

The Mexican crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner." It booed U.S. goals. It chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama!" as U.S. players left the field with a 2-0 victory.

So these are the people Bush says has enriched the life of his people in Texas. Now it's time for the rest of us in America to become enriched by this culture, I guess.

Yes, I'm sure the illegals will vote for Republicans.

I am not stereotyping the English as many on this thread are stereotyping the Mexicans.

No, you are too busy excusing their criminal behavior by saying that there is worse crime.

You are using failed logic to argue. You continue with ad hominem attacks against those who post against you. Give up. We all see through your convoluted arguments.

BTW, who are you voting for in the DEM primary, since I'm sure you are registered?

Well i might as well get it out of the way, because it will be brought up again as a non-sequiter.

The area I live in is heavily democratic. During the primaries, especially local ones(sheriff, etc) the competitive races are on the demo ballot. The pubbie is usually unopposed. I vote for the most consrvative demo and in the general usually vote for the Pubbie, but in local races, it is more the person. In statewide, House, Senate, and Presidential elections, I have voted 100% Pubbie. Also my registration when I lived in other parts of the country was Republican, due to the Republicans being more competitive.

Also my states primary is in April I think and by that time Kerry will probably have it wrapped up so it won't matter much.

Let's be honest: no fans, anywhere, are as nasty as Iggles fans. SI did a poll about 20 years ago on the worst places to play in any sport and Philly came in #1 in football and hockey, so far "ahead" in football that they gave the top 10, then said, "But the Eagles' fans are so far ahead of anyone else that they are on their own list."

Most of the soccer fans in the US are casual. It hasn't even hit on the radar. I'm not in Sam's Army, but I am an avid soccer fan. I do what I can to bring up the positive things about the sport here. Most people still need an education.

A peewee team from Boston was booed several years ago

Several YEARS?!?!?!? Try since 9/11 pal. That would make it within the last two years. It was a big incident, and might have been apologized for. They booed the National Anthem. They booed kids from America. The Canadian government did not support us in the war in Iraq.

What I am I supposed to think?

That the common Mexican is cheering for the terrorists should be no surprise.

After all, their elected Mexican politicians have aided in the smuggling of possible terrorist A-rabs over the border.

Most coyotes probably only care for the money paid them, not who they are smuggling.

Those who do know and care must get extra satisfaction by aiding the Moslems against the infidel gringos.

"Well, licensing the top half of Mexico for jobs also secures an exponential amount of coastline."

Again; if we can't secure the border as it is, we can't secure the extra coastline also.

I don't know about you all, but if I were a player, I think I would have walked off and refused to play. sometimes it just isn't worth it. Beating them would not be as much fun as walking out.
