When the Die Hard building was not even built yet, I worked at the tower next to it, the Century Plaza Hotel tower building. The presidential suite was made with President Reagan in mind. I worked in the top restaurant in that huge hotel complex, La Chaumiere, and had the honor of making a salad for President Reagan with sniffer dogs not far behind me and Secret Service men right by my side.
I have always been proud that I once made a lovely mache salad for President Reagan. I hope he enjoyed it.
Happy Birthday, Mr. President. You will always be remembered and loved. Thank you, Nancy, for all your service to this country and to your family. You have done so very right by your husband, through thik and through thin. May you be blessed with health and happiness.

I think in honor of President Reagan's birthday, all tax funded Pacifica Radio stations should shut down for the day. Do you think it is posssible that Reagan would have approved of the exportation of freedom even to people who didn't look like white germanic middle income people?
Ive spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I dont know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall, proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, windswept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace; a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity. And if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and heart to get there. Thats how I saw it, and see it still. - got the country going again,
- whipped inflation,
- ended the energy crisis, and
- transcended Communism.
In his first two terms Franklin Roosevelt
- let the Depression fester,
- allowed Hitler to develop into the monster of WWII infamy unchecked, and
- seeded the government with Communist agents.

Your great talks on the U S A,
Helped keep me in the know.
Then when you ran for President,

With such class through it all.
