Very good points. Thank you for taking the time to put such a comprehansive list together. I'm going to print it out and go over it with my children. My youngest is a 14 year old male football player who would likely make mincemeat of any attacker, but it never hurts to pass along useful information. He may need to tell his children these things some day.

Be assured that a person coming up behind another, no matter the athleticism, size, or gender.......has the advantage. A knife or gun stuck in your back is more than an equalizer.

Best to be aware of your surroundings, not be alone in a dark parking lot or college campus for that matter. Safe rides are not for wimps and most shopping centers have security willing to escort folks to their cars after dark.

It's not wimpy to be aware and careful.
