President Bush should insist his commission investigating the performance of U.S. intelligence agencies answer this question: What did we know about Saddam's weather balloon program, and when did we know it?

This is not a facetious suggestion.

Mr. Bush's decision to name a commission came after the highly respected David Kay -- who resigned as director of the Iraq Survey Group, saying he didn't believe Iraq had stockpiled weapons of mass destruction -- told the Senate Armed Services Committee an outside investigation was needed.

Has anyone seen a report on the nerve gas that was found in Iraq? They missed the high level alQueda terrorist, but found nerve gas in his quarters. But I haven't seen anything in print.

EVERY TIME there is a report of a chemical or biological agent or warhead being found, INVARIABLY, within 2 or 3 days, there is another report that says it was NOT what was originally reported..

It is NEVER explained what the material actually was, just that is was not WMD..

IMHO, there have been finds of WMD materials practically from DAY ONE of the military strike..
They are all being kept quiet, for some reason.. possibly political..

Possibly Bush will come out with a full list just prior to elections in November..
Possibly the information will never be revealed..

I would just like to know,....
If it's not Mustard Gas, what IS it??
Why can't SOMEONE tell us what it is, if it's not WMD??

If they can tell us what it isn't, they should be able to tell us what it is..

Oh sure, those trailers were for making Hydrogen balloons... NOT.

Saying that they were 'inefficient for that purpose' is like saying that they ... hmmm ... that is like saying that a Volvo is inefficient at flying.

Look, it is a well-known fact that Saddam had an ongoing and comprehensive meteorology program. He was a fanatic about learning dew points, wind chills, and barometric pressures. This fantasy about him wanting to be able to murder millions of innocents is a farce. <\sarcasm>
