I think so. NATO is not the UN, don't get me going on the UN :-). NATO is full of politicians hence alot of the nonsense that makes the news. But, when you get to the "next layer down", below the politicians, NATO is a group of countries such as America, Great Britain, Italy, etc. that pledged to work together and essentially watch each others back's. That next layer down, management if you will, is a lot of current and former soldiers who are loyal to their countries and value freedom. NATO has been a way to band together and work toward a common goal to protect freedom.
As with anything that deal with the machinations of governments things bog down or get behind the times. That has happened to NATO. But, they are making changes and with those changes I believe they will continue to be a worthy organization. Just my humble opinion :-)
