SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Olympic WMD drill starts

ATHENS (Reuters) - Athens has begun a three-day Olympics security drill focusing on nuclear, biological and chemical threats to the Greek capital during the Games.

More than 1,100 police, coast guards and military and medical personnel are taking part in operation "Blue Odyssey", described by Greek newspapers as the biggest of its kind staged in Europe.

Rescue and protection scenarios in case of an unconventional attack during the August 13-29 Games stretched 40 km (25 miles) along Athens' southern coastline, from the port of Piraeus to the seaside suburb of Anavissos.

"There could be as many as 100 points where the exercise is taking place simultaneously," police chief Fotis Nasiakos said on Friday. "There is not just one specific location."

The drill is one of dozens planned during the six months leading up to the Games and is so far the largest test of security against a threat from weapons of mass destruction.

Greece has set up a seven-nation Olympic security group of Britain, the United States, Israel, France, Germany, Spain and Australia to help it guard the Games.

Authorities have kept the drill scenario secret and have ordered media to stay away, but officials said it was taking place on land and at sea.

The Olympics organisers are budgeting an unprecedented 650 million euros (355 million pounds) for security measures.

After the U.S.-led war on Iraq and twin bombings in neighbouring Turkey last year, organisers have further beefed up their plan with extra security staff and equipment.

Public Order Minister George Floridis told Reuters on Thursday Greece would get from Russia several mobile laboratories capable of testing for nuclear, chemical and biological agents ahead of the Games.

Cal, I posted way, way, way, way back in the first thread about India when there was a lot of focus on what the AQ meant about upsetting the balance of power.

In short, while we do currently have good relations with the current regime (not exactly what I would describe as cozy), India has the second largest Muslim population in the world next to SA. While the Sunni's are a minority of the population there are daily incidents between Muslims and Hindu, and a lot of underlying tension.

Their government is no less vulnerable than Pakistan's, and they have a much more advanced nuclear program in place.

Daleel has made one postings regarding films (other than the films involving the American helicopters which I don't think you are speaking of). The posting, which he opened his group with on Sunday January 18, entitled Sahab Production (Al-Qaida).

The videos of Badr Riyadh are a Cloud Entperprise/Sahab Production and are definitely what is referenced by this first posting.

The other posting that I suspect you are referring to was made to a message board and later posted to the EOM_and_Daleel group. I have viewed the Badr Riyadh video on the net, and I don't think it is the film he described in the message below. It just doesn't meet the characteristics.

Russia is blowing itself up again to fool US into believing that we are on the same side in the war on terrorism, when in reality, Russia has made a secret deal with the terrorists and has actually masterminded the bomb attacks on its own people as a cover for the nuclear attack it intends to launch upon US at the end of the month.
