Most of Costco's customers are govt employees and union members.

Here's my letter to Costco:

2/5/2004

To Whom it may concern at Costco,

My wife and I have been loyal Costco customers since 1986. Most of our furniture, electronics, music, videos, medicine, cigarettes (before we quit) and many other things were purchased at either the Northridge CA Costco or The Issaquah store. I would guess that, through the years, we've spent well over $50,000 at Costco.

We've always been amazed at the quality of both the employees and the products in the Costco establishment. We've often commented on our hopes that nothing would ever happen to Costco that would hinder our relationship with them.

Well, dangit, it appears something has happened. The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that "Costco chairman, CEO give $95,000 each to defeat Bush".

That's just the type of thing we were hoping wouldn't happen. Seeing the way the company was run, we would have believed that Costco management had the same capitalist ideals as we, our families and our friends throughout the western United States do. It appears that we were dreadfully wrong.

If the socialists defeat Bush, our country is in for some rough times.

In the mean time, as much as it's going to hurt us (there's no better toilet paper than Kirkland's) we're going to have to say "so-long" to Costco.

ps: A copy of this letter is going to our families and friends throughout the western United States.

First thing in the morning, my husband will take special delight in taking his membership card back to COSTCO. He will ask to speak to the manager, and he will explain why he is terminating his membership.

This is just a small thing...but I hope COSTCO feels the impact.

I did not tear up our 17 year continous memership card up, I called membership services, canceled and got a $45.00 refund.

Asked that call be monitored and recorded I explained we do not support nor do business with people whom are fianancially involved in the support of the democratic party's stated Nazi tactics of outright hatred of our President. And that such people as the corporate heads of Costco must also be of the same stripe liars who are actively preaching the politics of hate.

Makes me sick. I just emailed Costco that I am never renewing membership, been with them since they were Price Club.

I sent my local newspaper a link to the report, and asked that they do a column on it, how the local COSTCO management reacts, etc.

Thanks looking into Sam's club now.

Been a member of price club/Costco since 1989 with 5 people attached to my card and we have their American Express card.

So they'd rather cater to the union goons. "Progressive" my arse. Pathetic.

Let's see how progressive they are. They make more money than me so I say they should redistribute their wealth to me. After all, I'm just a working class schmoe. Take from the rich and give to the poor, and all that.

A number of big concerns give to both parties. Given how MS was treated by the Clinton justice department I don't think this is all that of a shock. I think it's a way of covering both sides of the legislative aisle.

Joint Victory Campaign 2004

Anyone know how to get to their website? I got to the page for donations but could not get to their .org site.

Add Taco Bell heir to the list of big donors.

Cosco is the number 3 seller of groceries in the US behind WalMart and Krogers. In addition it is a big box store which carries much more than food.
