As Bo Dietl would put it ... "I'm gonna bumpitate this thread."
Called Costco on my way home yesterday and told them I've decided to join Sam's Club instead.

Letter to COSCO:
"Costco Wholesale Corp. Chairman Jeffrey Brotman and CEO James Sinegal gave $95,000 each in December to a political fund that aims to defeat President Bush in the November election, records filed with the Internal Revenue Service show.
Brotman and Sinegal were among 25 people who gave a combined $7.9 million to the Joint Victory Campaign 2004 fund, which seeks to "change the course of the country away from the Bush administration's radical agenda" and elect "progressive" candidates, according to the fund's Web site."
I find this very disturbing in a time of War especially when a very able President is leading the country with integrity and honor through perilous times that a giant among wholesalers would become a Special Interest, single issue opponent to the free world.
Electing Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make things worse. Probably far worse. This is not the time, if ever, to try and elect a "progressive" What Mr.s Brotman and Singal are doing is a slap in the face of their patriotic and more conservative patrons. Not to mention COSCO employees who must bow to the power or lose their jobs.
I will take my business elsewhere for the time being. I live in a town which is home to Military personnel, they too must feel a little betrayed as they fight for freedom and the security of this country, COSTCO has turned on them - for a more socialist government.
Sincerely,

Make sure to CALL the 800 number. Costco has to pay for that communication. Email is free. Call early, call often.
To: Hildy
Well Hildy, you've struck a nerve; add to the Smoked Salmon and Makers Mark if Sam's doesn't have it... and a letter from my COSTCO saying they are not a part of the other in maligning President Bush would be nice.

Pikamax posted contact info on post #8.
Better to contact Costco, rather than just tear up your card.
I have a Costco card, and I'm not going to tear it up.
Why? It's a great store, and I shop there every week.
The way I read this story, these guys are contributing
their own personal money, not Costco corporate money.
I know plenty of people that work at the local store,
and many are very conservative. Some are my close
friends.
Now, if Costco is donating money as a corporation?
Then I will throw it away.

Costco is aggressively promoting Hannity's new book, and in fact, in their Costco Connection, has made Hannity top-shelf in promotions, and is giving him top billing.
To: Bobby Chang
how does this line up with the CEO's dem leanings? I guess they just want to sell books.
To: ambrose
Does Joint Victory have to list all its donors? I'd like a look at that list.

They do sell books by conservative authors but there is usually less copies, and they are seldom replenished on the tables. I just noticed this week that michael moores book was just restocked at Costco, there must have been 8-10 stacks of that trash again.

That's a good point. I forgot about them breaking campaign donor limits.
