Bush's Guard service: What the record shows

Michael Moore, the documentary filmmaker, started it, labeling President Bush a military "deserter" during an appearance last month with Democratic presidential candidate Wesley K. Clark.

Less incendiary was Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe, who charged Sunday that Bush had been AWOL, absent without leave, while a fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Robinson is a liar. Turnipseed said that he tried to present himself as "fair" but that he "suckered" Turnipseed in. Turnipseed now realizes that Robinson is a Bush-hater.

I have emailed Robinson what Turnipseed has said about his original story, and how he misrepresented him--and directed him to the thread about it. He hasn't responded. I doubt if he will.

For the record Robinson is already under a cloud for his questionable reporting in other fields, such as his reports about pederasty in the Boston area churches. A Google will turn up a lot of information about him.

But in a nutshell, Robinson almost single-handly manufactured this story out of a casual remark that Turnipseed said--that he couldn't remember whether Bush showed up or not.

But as Turnipseed said, Robinson has no idea about how the National Guard works, and no interest in finding out. Turnipseed didn't order or direct Bush to do anything. He was not in his command. Bush was not AWOL, and there is no record to indicate that he missed any duty.

BTW, as I noted on the other thread, it turns out that 60 Minutes contacted Turnipseed quite some time before Robinson did. Tunipseed told them the same thing he later told Robinson. 60 Minutes didn't think there was a story. (Neither did Turnipseed.) But Robinson did. Or rather, he was determined to make up a story.

Hopefully when the full truth comes out, he will lose his job over his misrepresentations.

You should also be aware that he is a lurker here.

She is sporting a necklace given to her by the North Vietnamese. The necklace was made from the melted parts of a U.S. B-52 shot down by Hanoi.

Only extreme self control is preventing me from posting massive amounts of extrordinarily obscene profanity right now.
