Former Homosexual: 'Gay Marriage is a Counterfeit and Fraud'

HUNTINGTON, Conn., Feb. 5 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Stephen Bennett, executive director of SBM, Inc. and former homosexual, testified yesterday on Beacon Hill at the Massachusetts Statehouse stating "gay" marriage is "...a deceptive counterfeit and fraud." A Representative interrupted the session, announcing the breaking news from the state's SJC rejecting a civil union compromise and demanding "gay" marriage.
Bennett, a national speaker on homosexuality and the "gay" agenda, lived the "gay" lifestyle for over 11 years, and was sexually active with over 100 partners, many whom have died from AIDS. Finally in a long term same-sex relationship, he left it all in 1992. Today at 40, he is happily married over 10 years to his wife and he is the father of their two children. He is founder of SBM, a national organization advocating for the traditional family, the protection of children, and proclaiming the truth about homosexuality.
"I've had both worlds. I've loved a man and a woman. But I'll tell you the three "D's" of homosexuality: dysfunctional, destructive and deadly." Bennett continued, "America needs to realize affirming 'gay' marriage is giving homosexuals a false hope. Respectfully, what homosexuals need -- is help."
Stephen frequently speaks as a national spokesperson on behalf of Concerned Women for America in Washington, DC and the American Family Association in Tupelo, Miss. He appears frequently in the media confronting the misinformation campaign being waged by "gay" activists.
"Real love and tolerance is to share the truth with homosexuals -- not to enable them to remain trapped in a falsehood. America needs to realize the impact "gay" marriage will have on society. Our children will be the ultimate victims." Stephen ended, " No one is born "gay" -- and homosexual men and women CAN completely change."
Stephen Bennett is always available for media on "gay" marriage or any stories relating to the "gay" issue. SBM's national office is only a little over an hour outside of NYC.

1. If you are a "former alcoholic" as you say, then you would be able to drink normally and responsibly wouldn't you?..Have a few drinks and no problem. But you don't. You totally abtain from alcohol. Why?..because you are an alcoholic. It is an addiction. And the only way to beat an addiction is to totally abstain from the substance that you are addicted to. An addict who abstains from is still an addict. The are a sober addict. They know that if they use again their life will go into turmoil. That is why you totally abstain despite your assurances that you are a" former alcoholic." A sober alcoholic is a person of great character and power. They have been through the fires. The most important part to them to recognize is the truth. Paramount among those truths is that they cannot ever use alcohol under any circumstances. Why?..because they are recovered alcoholics.

With all due respect, crap. I don't drink not because I'm afraid I'll slip into uncontrolled drinking, but because I have taken a vow - a promise. Heard of that? Like marriage is a vow, a promise.
Alcoholism is not a disease. Heroin addiction is not a disease (heard that jewel on NPR one day).
Homosexuality is a little different in that it is definitly indicative of personality disorder, but it is still boils down to a matter of choices. We have a certain amount of free will, being human, and we can make good choices or bad.
And the sorry thing is that one bad choice easily leads to another.
No one has to act on their sexual impulses, whether homosexual or otherwise.

Thaty's encouraging, thanks.

Likewise, long term heterosexual relationships seem mythical too.Hardly, at least in the neck of the woods I come from.
My grandfather and grandmother were married for over 40 years before my grandmother died.
My mother and father were married for over 25 years before my father died.
My wife and I have been married over 20 years now.
My brother and his wife have been married over 21 years now.
My sister has been married over 10 years now, (13 years younger than me).
Many of my relatives, on both sides of the family, have been married for 20, 30, 40, 50 years or more.
Mythical? Where I come from it's the norm.

I'm talking national statistics here.Do we have statistics on long term homosexual relationships?
No?
Why not?
Possibly because they are on the verge of being mythical.
50% doesn't sound so bad from that point of view.
Besides, I got relatives ALL OVER the country. ;^)

Easy to test your theory isn't it?..If you are a " former alcoholic" as you claim, then you can drink normally then can't you?. You can't. Why?..because you have an addiction to alcohol. The only way to deal with that addiction is to abstain from alcohol in toto isn't it?
Now if you are willing to defend your cured, former, saved whatever alcoholic thesis then you can drink responsibly like any other normal person. You won't because you can't.
Quod erat demonstratum. There is no such thing as a " former alcoholic" There are drinking alcoholics and there are sober alcoholics. Sobriety is laudable and healthy. Denial isn't.

You are correct, the number of LTHR's is extremely small.

Wrong. You wouldn't recognize logic if it bit you on the butt.
You said something DOESN'T HAPPEN. You have evidence for that except your bare assertion.
A bunch of people say IT HAPPENED TO THEM. All the evidence is locked up in their heads.
Prove them wrong.

Now that IS an interesting question. The assumption that they are mythical is a great leap however. Im sure the data exists on the long term relationships among homosexuals.
My guess is that LTRs among homosexuals is probably significantly lower than heterosexuals given the lack of children. Children tend to result in expectation of LTR's I would also speculate that within the homosexual group LTR's are probably more prevalent in lesbians than male homosexuals. This is, however, purely speculation only slightly more valid than your " mythical" assertion.

Yes maam. Sir.
To: tcuoohjohn
Sorry, bud. You don't know me, and you can't generalize like that. I used to be a daily marijuana and hashish smoker too, as well as cigarette smoker. You couldn't PAY me to smoke anything now. I mentioned that about 20 years ago I smoked some weed - and lo and behold, I wasn't tempted into smoking it any more. I didn't have to force myself to keep from slipping into my old habit of smoking weed continually on a daily basis. And the weed was available. What happened? I changed, I lost my desire for it. I didn't want it any more. I changed from a constant drug user to someone who doesn't even want it any more. Someone could dangle the substances I formerly used to excess, and without any restraint or control, in front of me and I would have no trouble saying, "No thanks."
So you're trying to say that unless I smoke a LITTLE or drink a LITTLE I'm still an alcoholic or drug user. And I refute that ignorant and illogical assumption.
Your argument is like saying that a person who used to be unfaithful to his wife, then had a change of heart and now is loyal and faithful, in order to prove he's really reformed, has to hang out with other women to prove he can control himself? Or make out with them and not screw them to show he's really reformed?
For some reason you are trying to twist logic into a pretzel in your attempt to prove that homosexuals can't change. It's a flimsy, failed attempt at that.
To: ffusco
I figure if I was able to change, ANYONE can!
To: little jeremiah
Good for you!
