I see that the sons-in-law defection is not quite as you have been claiming all along. Hah. Why am I not surprised.

It really does not matter at all if Saddam has these WMD at the time the war started. The fact of the matter is Saddam deceived and lied about what he had and would not show any proof of destruction of what he already admitted was there, The whole world's documented it's existance.
There was some reason he was hiding this fact and it's just poetic justice if he really destroyed these WMD's and kept lying to everyone about it.

The weapons were hidden to embarrass the administration. The question becomes, what can the administration negotiate away to get Syria to give up the weapons?
The other question becomes, if the administration does find the weapons before October, will the RATS then say that we planted the weapons.

I am beginning to suspect as you say the weapons were hidden to embarrass the administration. There is an avenue that isn't being explored enough.
What if the stall by France and Russia and Germany in the UN was part of a plan.....to make us look bad.

Peach, thank you for this ping. Her article makes far more sense than most of what we're hearing from politicians and media--and Kay himself. Some have suggested Kay has an axe to grind with the Bush admin. I don't know if this is true, but it does seen to be a possibility.

There was some reason he was hiding this fact and it's just poetic justice if he really destroyed these WMD's and kept lying to everyone about it. Why has everybody resigned to the notion that we will NEVER find any WMD in Iraq?
This is like expecting 100,000 people to locate WMD in the entire state of California in a few months, isn't it?
The Iraqi's buried whole fighter planes in sand dunes, for cripes sake. Sure we found (some) of that stuff, but it's a logical assumption that biological / chemical weapons much more easily concealed than a MIG.

Thanks for the heads-up.
After listening to George Tenet's speech this morning,
it would seem that Ms. Mylroie has it about right,
especially with regard to David Kay.
Tenet said we are no where near being 85 percent finished
with the hunt for WMD as Kay has claimed.
To: EQAndyBuzz
You know, maybe people will say I'm too naive about this, but I say we treat the ongoing violence and WMD problem with a similar threat/promise that we used with Palestine: "Okay Iraqis, it is up to you now. No elections and no US withdrawal of troops until the violence stops against coalition forces and Iraqi police, and the former dictators and their minions tell the truth about where the WMD's are hidden." Then we wait until they comply.

You should have posted this again. It was posted in the middle of the night and those threads are ALWAYS lost because many of the posters only read the most recently filed posts, not the responses. Note the few responses.
