You all just keep right on leaning hard on the Lord's shoulder, and you are gonna do just fine, no matter what.

Here are a couple of poems I wrote yesterday, which just might offer some small bit of encouragement in this tough trial you are going through:

Courage for Your Personal Battle

Peace in the midst of chaos
Calm in the eye of the storm
Coolness under fire
When the battle's getting warm

Men and women of courage
Are extremely hard to find
The ones who keep their head
When others are losing their mind

Self-confidence has its limits
But faith knows no such bounds
Look beyond yourself
And deliverance will always be found

Pressure

Deep in the heart of the earth
Where the fires burn
Grinding heat and pressure
A diamond forms and turns

Millenia uncounted
Dark and all alone
Captive of the earth
In hell it makes its home

Then one day it surfaces
Dug up from the ground
The gem that had been lost
Though black has now been found

In the Master's expert hand
With art and hammerblow
The facets that were hidden
Begin to slowly show

Though the blows are painful
And never seem to cease
From the pressures of the hell below
They are a sweet release

And then one day the work is done
Much to the gem's surprise
The glory of its facets
Are shown to the world's eyes

In the Light's great glory
Each facet sparkles and shines
As the Maker of such beauty
Says, "Child, you now are Mine"

Twilight

The sun slips beneath the horizon
Leaving behind in its wake
The soft glow of twilight
Pale pastels paint the clouds
In shades from dark to bright
The night begins to fill the sky
Blue fading away to black
As the stars begin to come out
One more day of our lives
Has passed us by
We'll never be going back
