ISRAEL MINISTRY OF TOURISM TO HONOR PAT ROBERTSON NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2004 - The Reverend Dr. Pat Robertson will be honored by the Israel Ministry of Tourism, at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) annual convention, on Sunday, February 15, 2004, when he is presented with the 2003 Ambassadors Award by Benny Elon, Israel's Minister of Tourism. This year, the National Religious Broadcasters Convention will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center, in Charlotte, NC.
"Dr. Robertson's passion emanates from an understanding of the land of the Bible, and a commitment to a strong State of Israel. He is a true friend of Israel. In the face of opposition and at points when Dr. Robertson stood alone, he never wavered in his convictions. We applaud and honor that spirit today," exclaimed Minister Elon.
Rami Levi, Israel's Tourism Ambassador to North & South America added, "Dr. Robertson's commitment to strengthening tourism to Israel, and the number of visitors to our country is greatly welcomed. His influence over his millions of viewers and Christian Zionists is appreciated, and we look forward to working with him for years to come."
This is the second year that the Israel Ministry of Tourism has presented its Ambassadors Award at the National Religious Broadcaster's Convention. Last year's recipient was Mike Evans, president and founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team (JPT).
Pat Robertson is the founder and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network, whose programming is broadcast across the globe. The National Religious Broadcasters represents over 1,500 faith-based member organizations.
The Ambassadors Award honors extraordinary efforts in support of The State of Israel. Tourism to Israel from the United States increased 31 per cent in 2003, attributed in part to Christian tourism.

Why can't Israel have nukes (I presume that's what you're referring to)? I can't think of any reason.
What does that have to do with Pat?

I like Pat but doesn't Isreal have WMD? They can't have WMD --why do they have WMD?

Why do you think Israel has and needs to have WMD? To blow the Arabs off the map if they decide to invade. Israel is outnumbered so will have to use nukes if the Islamikazis decide to make good on their threats.

Well some countries have them, some don't. Some sign the non-proliferation treaty, some follow it, some sign it and cheat, some don't sign it at all.
What standard are you proposing?
Do you feel the US is bound by the Kyoto Treaty or the Internationl Criminal Court?

Pat's a smart guy, but he'd do himself a favor if he would stop making statments like; "God told me that G.W. Bush is going win [this November's election] in a landslide."
Just a suggestion.

He should not have been zotted ofr mild anti Israelism. If only the security fence will be as effective!

Himself a favor, I don't know, but I agree, that might be a favor to GWB. Squeaking out a close one might better help bring out the vote.
BTW, did he really say "God told me...", I haven't seen that quote. If so what was the context and who was he talking to?

Maybe he was banned for spelling 'Isreal'. It's a dead give-away when they can't even spell the country's name.

Eyes must be getting bad, I missed that. I mistype on occasion, but as you know it's not about spelling, Isreal is generally not an accident.

Isreal is generally not an accident.I'm a Southern Baptist and I can tell you that in 99% of the cases where I've seen "Isreal", something bad always follows.

BTW, the one thing you can be sure of is that Pat Robertson would never harm Israel.
Israel needs tourism income, Robertson can help with those "brain-dead right-wing Christians". Take the bucks and don't worry about it, we're harmless.
