This kind of issue can really set Bush apart from Kerry who never saw a pro-homosexual agenda he didn't like.

miss me? The logic is based on the fact that I believe divorce and adultery is more harmful to marriage than two queers getting married.
I guess now that the president has declared marriage to be sacred, you'll be lobbying the government to get out of the business.

I sent a missive off to Andrew Sullivan about this. Sullivan, of course, is all gooey over the Massachusetts decision. I pointed out to him, of course, that notwithstanding the issue of gay marriage, the actions of the Massachusetts high court are an example of Judicial
diktat. The judiciary is
ordering the legislature to write new law.
If the legislature of the State had done this, I might have fewer problems with this, as the legislature is accountable to the voters and the voters get the kind of government they deserve. But this was the action of an imperial court that must be roped in.
Someone should take this to Scalia and Thomas. Please!
BTW, Bush is right to take his stand here, and he can do so from a State's Rights perspective without squalid gay bashing. Be Seeing You,
Chris

Let's say I agree with you, and in fact I do. You and I support the Constitutional ammendment. It gets introduced and passed. What then? That's all I'm saying fella. We have tens of millions of illegals who are occupying our land and bubba gump can't get out of his own way on the subject.
Again, what friggin good will adding to the US Constitution do?
The only time the US Constitution is even mentioned these days, is when an illegal or an representative of the ACLU want's to trample the US on the way to their own self-interest.

If preserving the family institution is not important to you, then you're not really a conservative. Maybe you can be on the radical edge of libertarianism, but if you see no value to family values, then there's a problem.
There's also a financial cost to gay marriage, in case you haven't thought that part through.
Nobody here is saying that gay couples can't live in the same house. Why do they want to get "married"? Answer that question, and you'll find the real motivation for this movement.

Gobbling up the DNC talking points ? That's not going to win any debates or friends here.
You have just insulted every black ! Since when is it proper to equate perversity with race ?
Marriage has been the state's business, from the beginnings of time.Don't believe me ? GO LOOK IT UP!
Let GOD sort what out ? The privileges that marriage confers on a couple, by cities, states, and the Fed government ?

Appears that they can be removed to me according to The MA constitution. Can and will are horses of a different color bobo. Trust me on this, they will not be removed.
Cheers.

You are so right! Kerry is all about the pro-gay agenda! The gap between Pres Bush and Kerry just got a lot wider.

A. How do you know we're all "good Christians"? It's not just Christians who are opposed to legitimizing same sex marriage.
B. When same sex acts and same sex marriage are rammed and crammed down the publics' throats (no pun intended) by an out of control judiciary, how is this freedom or liberty? On the contrary, it is judicial oligarchy. This country is supposed to be ruled by elected representatives, not black robed Nazgul.
C. Read back up the thread my post with quotes by prominent "gay" spokespeople on why THEY want same sex marriage. Then get back to the discussion.

Am totally fed up with activist judges. You are right if the legislature had passed this, the people could vote them out.
Cannot believe a Supreme Court is telling the Legislature what to say in their bill.

I guess I need to read more of your posts to figure out why you hate our President so much.
To: breakem
Tell that to the MA Supremes unless you agree with their ruling!

Oh it's ridiculous for the court to do this, of course. Just like it's ridiculous for the state to tell two taxpayers they can't get married. Since Bush said marriage is a sacred institution, I know you'll support my amendment to get the government out of our sacred institutions.
