(Excerpt required.) The FBI is considering a new way of casting for leads in the Brian Wells case.

Agents are leaning toward releasing part of the detailed note the 46-year-old pizza deliveryman was given before his bombing death. The FBI could release the passages as early as this week.

The note, believed to be several pages long, contains directions and a variety of terms, including the word "troubleshooter," according to the FBI.

"We are reviewing the note and considering releasing parts of it for lead value," Bob Rudge, the special agent in charge of the Erie FBI office, said Tuesday.

He said the FBI could release the note "in the very near future, and perhaps sometime this week."

The Erie Times-News agreed not to publish the name of James L. Johnson???

It is also good to know that the FBI is getting around to reading the multi-page note.

I may have to ask Vinny in MA about Troubleshooter.

Release the damn letter. If you had released a lot more of the unabomber clues, (like the elaborately carved box), the guy might have been caught sooner.

Trouble shooter = electrical???

Because the article WILL "flow" off GoErie's frontpage in due course, as it probably should.

Wells made only one stop after robbing the bank. He drove his Geo Metro to a drive-through sign at the McDonald's restaurant near the PNC Bank. Wells was killed moments later when the bomb around his neck exploded as he was kneeling in the driveway of the Eyeglass World store near the McDonald's.

Ummm, "moments later?" According to my memory, Wells had been more or less in police coustody for over 15 minutes when the bomb collar exploded.
