The 2002 midterm elections were historically great for the GOP! Bush had the Midas touch everywhere he went...a campaign appearance by the President resulted in a 2-3% bump in the polls...all over the country.

I still maintain that there is a tremendous resevoir of goodwill in America for President Bush. I am concerned with his spending , CFR, NCLB, et al...but I still like the guy. I just genuinely like him and I trust his judgement in te War on Terror. And I think there's alot of that out there.

Medicare is a problem, because of the babyboomers. They and we have come to see certain government programs as entitlements, not privileges. So how do you solve that problem with so many baby boomers retiring daily? The House will cut further spend, Bush will acquiesce to the House, knowing the Senate will expand the spending and then we will hear how President Bush and the good conservative will have done their best. And we pay people to do this?
