Depending on the size of the weapon---

I've used the "fanny-pack" ditty bag from Uncle Mike's. It's not as convenient for draw/presentation as a holster (by a ton) but it is certainly inconspicuous. Lots of pockets for change, gum, carkeys, and ammo.

I agree, especially in hot weather areas like here in Miami, Florida. Anybody wearing a Banana Republic Photgraphers vest in the middle of July is a dead giveaway to be carrying. I do it anyway, but the belly bag is much more comfortable. The main reason I won't carry with a belly bag is if I'm anticipating going into or through an area that might be called "Indian Country" where a fast presentation might be required; or I want to send a message with the aforementioned Banana Republic vest which sends the same message to the bad guys who know the real deal with CCW.

Try one of these.

They are incredibly fast. I had asked the lady who sold me the one I use for biking and she had a toy gun under my nose before I realized it. I almost had a heart attack.

Now if only they'd make a back pack with a pistol slot and thumb snap...

You know, I find it curious that if the Dems thought they had this snookered, then they would be calling for the bill to go to vote. Inasmuch as they haven't perhaps they are scared witless that it is going to pass.

Semper Curious

Could be that or the pubbies, knowing they don't have the votes, want to make sure the roll is called during the evening news so they can expose the traitors on live television.

To be honest with you, I SERIOUSLY doubt that a "majority" of Wisconsin citizens favors CCW. The majority really doesn't give a horse's patoot one way or the other. But there are two significant minorities, and the Gov happens to be in one of them, with CCW people being in the other.

To take another issue for comparison: I think that a true majority of Wisconsin citizens are NOT in favor of tax increases, whehter local or State. Similarly, I think a true majority of Wisconsin citizens would NOT ban abortions (but this is a very close call.)

What do you think about the State Senate's two-thirds vote to override Gov. Jim Doyle's veto of a law that would allow Wisconsin residents to carry concealed guns?

Choice Out Of 462 Votes
Residents should be allowed to carry gun
62%
Governor never should have vetoed law
10%
Issue should be dropped
1%
Let individual counties decide
1%
Keep 130-year ban in place
26%

Very good insight. Recall that the Dims spent about 8 hours in caucus before the Senate vote--and they lost.

Reading between the lines on the press reports....

Sherman, the guy who really counts, is thoroughly PRO-CCW. Wrote a fabulous op-ed on the issue about 6 months ago. All the fixes to the original bill that he wanted are in place.

Apparently, although the Dims THINK Sherman will swing with them and sustain Ayatollah Doyle's veto, he will NOT commit to do so. He's a good pol, and his district is (like many) not really 'hot' one way or the other.

So he has his principles, or he has the Party. I think that the Ayatollah cannot come up with enough booty for Sherman--budgets are tight here...

This may be the time when one wants to be the fly on the wall.
It was the Republicans who called the first delay. I don't know which side called this one. At least I'm not sitting outside the Capitol building right now. I think we have some Freepers in the crowd.

I am listening to the audo feed. Is it common for instructions regarding the vote to be given while the roll is being taken?
