This is silly. People LIKE Rudy. The voters who will decide this election (the middle 20-30%) wont see this as running away from convictions. They like Rudy. I'm sure he'd do fine. The only people who would hate it aren't going to NOT vote for Bush because Rudy spoke, thats ludicrous..

None of which I said.

I am really tired of the negativity that is coming from some parts of the Republican party. You all sound like the Democrats, all negative, nothing positive. Until you can come up with something more productive than a third party candidate, I suggest you take a different tack.

Any suggestions for the keynote speaker?

Most here know who I would choose.

But the fact is, the leadership is in all likelihood too cowardly to do it. They run scared when the media and the liberals (but I repeat myself) say, "BOO!"

Don't misrepresent my views.

Unlike you obviously, I think the conservative agenda is not only positive, but is the only message that is positive. The rest are mere imitators, at best.

He certainly wouldn't have been classed as "mediocre" in my book. As a frequent visitor to NYC over the last 35+ years . . .

That's consistent with everything I've seen over the last couple of decades. Ironically, those people who have been most impressed with Rudy Giuliani as mayor of New York are not those who live in New York City, but those who live somewhere else and travel there either frequently (as commuters) or occasionally (as visitors).

There's a reason for this -- about 90% of the people who live in New York City are retardates, professional malcontents, or both. The same person who was complaining about crime in 1989 was complaining about heavy-handed police tactics in 1995. There's simply no way to keep a population of peasants happy -- they're like the Cheyenne or Sioux living on reservations, waiting for the buffalo to come back to the plains.

The only people who LIKE Rudy are liberals and those who are unaware of his sheannaigans while in office.

The man is an anti-constitutionalist.

Hehe...your post made me think of something.

Having Rudy keynote the GOP national convention would be like the Dems having Zell Miller keynote their convention!

Now wouldn't that make their base happy...

Of course, while they may be wicked, they aren't stupid, so that ain't gonna happen.

LOL. Well, I left some room there for you -- about 10%. That seems to be generous enough, right?

Comparing Giuliani to Mussolini- that's rich.

The only people who feel Giuliani is a fascist are:
1) Peep show patrons and hookers who miss the old 42nd street
2) Street vendors
3) The "homeless"

Be realistic, the National Party is RINO, that's why many want him. They are big government liberals who ran away from the Clinton's after the eight year nightmare.

The Republican Party has taken a left turn in search of ever lasting power.

Hey Fusco. If you like Giuliani because he is an Italian American, that's your problem. You want a good Italian American whose a real Republican? Check out Tancredo. He's great. Giuliani is the pits. By the way, my ancestors - some of them - came from Italy also, so I guess I know a fascist when I smell one and Giuliani IS a fascist.

Sure, he cleaned up the squidgee boys, the porn shops and hookers and made the city a safe place. But so could have Mussolini, Hitler or Stalin.

The guy has a power problem and his politics ain't Republican. He is a misfit in either party - too law and order for the Dems and too liberal for the Repubs.

Maybe he should start his own party. All he needs is a bunch of brown shirts.
