I was listening to WABC Radio last night at about 10:30, to the John Batchelor Show. (By the way, what happened to his partner, Paul Alexander?) Batchelor almost always has guests such as John Loftus who are well-versed in the arena of terrorism. He gets reports from Iraq, Iran, Russia, and all along the corridors of terrorism. They were discussing the possibility that Bush is sandbagging the dems on WMD.

Perhaps it is wishful thinking on my part to believe what I heard, but the analyst (I think it was Loftus, but I'm not sure) was saying that, via satellite tracking, David Kay knows to the centimeter where all the WMD's are buried. The claim is that Saddam had a caravan of weapons sent to Syria right before the war, and they are buried there.

We do know that satellites can track an object on earth as small as a license plate. We also know that the satellites were trained over Iraq nearly constantly during the buildup to the war. It doesn't seem to be much of a stretch to assume that, if Saddam trucked the stuff to Syria, we were able to follow it.

Batchelor and his guest were speculating that this information is being withheld so that the democrats can be given enough rope to hang themselves. It does boggle the mind--Kerry (or whoever) gets nominated and spends several months castigating Bush about WMDs. Then, along about October--Voila! Not only have we located the WMDs, but they are in the hands of an unstable, terrorist-supporting nation. Who are the soccer moms and NASCAR dads going to trust their kids' safety to now--John Kerry? It's just a theory, of course, but it makes more sense to me than the theory that Saddam never had such weapons. Tell that to the Kurds.

Too dangerous. The Dems and the media (redundant?) have been saying for months that Bush lied about WMD. We knew they weren't there, but we lied to the public -- because it was good politics. I don't believe that.

But now, there is the idea that Bush knows about (perhaps has) the WMD but is withholding that info. He is lying to the public -- because it is good politics.

If I were Bush, and I had no certain information about WMD, I would absolutely DREAD finding that information in October. I think it would be EASILY be spun by the Dems as another lying plot by the evil Republicans.

Alas, Mr. Batchelor and Mr. Alexander had a falling out a couple of months ago. Search for this thread here on FreeRepublic: Bad Blood Spells Split for WABC Team. It's a New York Post article from December that talks about the breakup.

Why would Kay say there isn't any WMDs, IF he knows exactly where they are?

I agree with your conclusion that the WMDs may have been shipped to Syria, but even a video showing Hussein personally burying them in the Syrian earth would not stop the Dems and demented scribblers like Dowd from lying and slandering Bush and Republicans.

The libs, save for a tiny few, have moved beyond the margins of a decent opposition. They are now in the category of traitorous scoundrels just about the entire lot. Opportunity is the only thing on their minds. To them there is no history and nothing for them to account their actions for. To a person they all supported Clinton's claim that Hussein had WMDS and had to be removed...no problem, we'll just forget about that and smear Bush and forget that every intelligence org on the planet said the same thing about Saddam's WMDs. In fact even after the Kay report, the Brits and Australians still stand by their claims that Hussein had WMDs up until the war. That doesn't matter to Dems which makes them the most irresponsible group of elected clowns we've ever seen.
