I say get Dolly Parton to take the place of Janet Jackson next year.

It would take a change to the Constitution. The Twentieth Amendment specifies Jan 20 as the date.

I have a similar thought. Why not invite Kid Rock, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake to sit on top of dunking tanks, and allow fans to throw footballs at the dunk targets for $10 a toss? Have five or six cameras on each dunk tank, and every time someone hits the target replay the dunking over and over in slow motion.

Oh, and to make it interesting, have the dunk target be about ten feet in diameter, and set about ten feet away from the spot where people throw the ball at the target. Make it so 80 year old grandmas can hit the target without too much effort. That way we'll get LOTS of dunks during halftime!

This is good... If you would just put some piranha in the water it's a winner.

Big LOUD Marching bands...TRADITION ! And Fireworks....gotta have fireworks ! I understand if ya have a closed stadium but a good fireworks and big bands are football.

Epcot had a holographic show when I visited there .....(albeit now homographic)... I wonder if a 100 foot tall version of the individual singers could be projected at the center of the field ? Regardless of where I get a ticket/seat to a game these days the show is on the other side. Create a show where their ain't a bad seat in anybodys house ! There or veiwers at home.

Bottom line......ya'll can't do any worse than we've viewed lately......I think !

Good luck ! I'll be watching of course !.........Stay Safe !

FAMU Marching Band would be great! I loved the shows in the movie "Drumline" (the plot stunk, BTW)--superFUNky! But last year's performance by No Doubt (esp. Gwen Stefani) was my fave of all time.

"I would suggest Toby Keith, Mary Chapen Carpenter, James Taylor..."

Lee Greenwood, Alabama...There are hundreds of great, name bands who could put on a great show.

Marine Corps Silent Drill Team--They are showstoppers.

Over flights of the B2 and F117. They came in low over a Redskins game in DC. It was an awsome sight.

How about having Michael Moore be the performer at half time? He'd pull off his plaid, soiled shirt, expose his bloated body and his smelly pits, and he would still have the Hollywierd Oscar, incorrectly given him for being a liar and a "documentarian"!

What a country!

Hollywood and the Entertainment Business honchos continue to bury this country!

When is someone here (preferably an older FReeper) going to call these bastards out? I can't, I would most likely get in trouble for telling the truth.

You wouldn't be releated to Ernst Blofeld, would you?

"Yes, Mr. Bond. These piranha can strip a man to the bone in seconds".

You know, I'm not a Lawrence Welk fan, but I would have enjoyed him more, or Tony Bennet (I'm not a TB fan either) more than the superbowl half-time show. Worst excuse for music and entertainment I've ever seen. Maybe they should have shown Heidi, at half-time.

What ever happened to the punt, pass and kick contest with little kids?

Great idea!!! That would be very nice to get back to.

But today, instead of the "punt, pass, and kick contest, it's the c**t, a**, and pr*ck contest.

Blame it on the bosses of the "Entertainment" business. It's a small group of equally aligned and familiar America haters - these are the same sleezeballs who bought up control of the three TV networks at their inception back decades ago - the very same people.

But, I'd get in trouble for going any further.

If they don't voluntarily stop what they are doing to this nation, I say that they be stopped.

Michael Moore ... pull off his plaid, soiled shirt, expose his bloated body...

It is a little know fact that Michael Moore is a frequent visitor to Florida...he's considered a navigation hazard...

Actually the Lynyrd Skynyrd band is still touring. I saw a concert that was filmed in high definition last summer that is showing on InDemand HD TV. They sounded great (and the high def looked awesome). They weren't like quite a few bands that sound horrible live and only sound ok after huge amounts of studio remixing.

I know that Skynyrd was cancelling tour dates from September - November 2003 due to Gary Rossington's illness. He underwent multiple-bypass heart surgery and had some complications that lengthened his recuperation. Looks like they pushed the tour into March, at least. But they *are* back on the road.

You're correct about their "live performance sound"; Skynyrd is not a studio band. It's a bit spooky how those Van Zant boys all sound so much alike, too.

Despite Jax being Lynyrd Skynyrd's "home town", I doubt that they'd be invited to play. There's just too strong of a Confederate flag-waving Southern Rock image associated with the band. See, that's *offensive*, but the half-time show last night, well, that was mainstream. Barf.
