I'm so upset and frustrated by our idiotic border policy. Usually there's a quid pro quo...one side gives something, and so does the other. We're falling all over ourselves to please Mexico and everybody else south of the equator, but what are these countries doing for us besides sending the bottom half of their gene pool north as a way to fix their overpopulation problems? This is a big mystery.

This is nothing new. I reported a year ago that the border patrol was under orders not to detain ANY illegal aliens, since sometime during the Clinton administration. Orders came from the top, saying that they simply did not want the numbers on the books. The practice is the same on the northern and southern border. I heard this from the mother of a border patrol agent who has worked both borders.

I forgot to mention that Michelle Malkin investigated my claim and reported it in her book, last year.

This is a little off subject, but I just remembered hearing Jay Serverin on the radio this afternoon saying those planes were cancelled yesterday because of credible information that they may have had suicide bombers on board. That, and/or passengers infected with anthrax and heaven knows what other horrors,(supposedly ignorant of their medical condition),who would get off at their US destinations and proceed to infect hundreds of thousands.

This is not exactly the best time to be travelling to or from Europe. And I think it has everything to do with our national security as much as protecting our border with Mexico.
Hadn't heard about the anthrax yet.

Yup. I almost drove off the road when Jay Severin mentioned it. He said the obvious: it'd be incredibly easy to do and all but impossible to defend against. He mentioned anthrax and smallpox in particular, but indicated other diseases...ebola, etc.. He correctly called them WMD, and then ranted about our current threat levels: Did anyone know which color we happen to be at? Did anyone care? Why didn't the government raise the threat level? I turned the radio off because it was either Jay ranting or Howie Carr on RKO holding a poll on Janet Jackson's tasteless behavior. My other choices were: NPR blathering about Kerry, Dean, and Edwards, or WCRB and classical music. Who could worry about ebola or anthrax and enjoy Mozart at the same time? So I turned off the radio.

I don't know how good my silent time was...I was brooding about masses of airplane passengers infected with anthrax, getting off in NY or Chicago and infecting everyone they came in contact with. Jay Severin said we had no defense against this, and I had to agree. Leaving aside the question of our wide open southern border, they'll have to start screening airplane passengers for infectious diseases.

"Hey, I like that water station idea."
Ideas is what is lacking (along with political will). This nation has two robots scooting around Mars right now but our leadership claims nothing can be done about this problem right here, quite literally, in our back yards.
American Border Patrol is readying their own flying drones. The Israelis have implanted sensors into the wall that the diplodinks are crying over (new "Wailing Wall?). We're withdrawing troops from South Korea. There's a few ideas.

"Leaving aside the question of our wide open southern border, they'll have to start screening airplane passengers for infectious diseases." Should be a good year for time shares here in the States.
The French in gay Paris and the Germans in cold Berlin have been crying in the beer over lost American revenue.
I saw a news article two weeks ago of famous tourist traps in those countries vacant of people - empty. It was on BBC and the euros were sad to see our money go.
(But not us.)

"American Border Patrol is readying their own flying drones." Think about it. If the United States were really serious about closing our border, would we need airships?
Drones can't seal the border, and that is the only thing that will stop the invasion.

Drone bomber. That's why I love you guys. As our speech on this subject is not so free (like, say, the breasts of aging pop divas), I won't tell you what I really think about extensive deployment of claymores, military and civilian target ranges strategically relocated, or shipments of nuclear and hazardous waste planted in a new "No-Man's Land". No, I'm just not going to relate any ideas along those lines.
The success of ankle-monitors is intriguing. A few sci-fi flicks have featured a variant on that idea where neck collars blow up when out of range of a tight perimeter. While that's just too grisly for A.C.L.U. tastes, how about a Scarlet Letter for the 21st century? Catch and release them after injecting a dye, tattoo-style across their foreheads ("Gotcher new gang colors right cheer!). Or a DEEPLY implanted computer chip?
What CAN be done?

Any damn thing he wants under National Security. He would be defending the States from invasion or attacks. All he needs is permission from the President of Mexico, as if he gives a crap about the US of A.
