HOUSTON, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance.
MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it.

Yep. And a lousy acting job IMHO.
If this was an accident, what was SUPPOSED to happen when he ripped off her bra cup?

This is the other guy who we should go after for disgracing the flag. Totally disrespectful IMHO

You hit the nail on the head. His attitude is what bothered me about it - he looked defiant when he did it.
MTV is horrible and I'm no prude. It's blocked at my house and will stay blocked.

MTV is ruining America MTV is a symptom - not the disease itself.

Don't forget to let the supporters of last night's show know how you feel. AOL was the main sponsor. AOL should sue Viacom for the value of their sponsorship contract. Doing so would mitigate any harm to their reputation for the content of the halftime show, and unless they were made aware in advance of the show's content I would think such a suit should have a significant likelihood of success.

If you want to go after President Bush, then you would have to go after all those who did the same thing after the 9-11 attacks. I recall seeing a number of flags that had signitures on them. Does it make it right? No, but that was one of the very few times I could understand why they did it. In view of the pre-game show's reverance to the flag, the memorial to the STS-107 crew, and other events, Kid Rock's act was a sure desacration of the flag. I, for one was offended at his use of it. But I, like millions of others, was horribly offended by the ENTIRE halftime "program". It was sickening. This should never be allowed to occur in the future. In a nutshell, the world got to see what MTV is all about.

Interesting that under certain "circumstances", knowing the "intentions", you are willing to give it a pass (even if it is still wrong).
It is not fair to go after Kid and not Bush or anyone else that disrespect's the flag. Consistency is a virtue of truth.
Kid had no ill intentions and while still wrong, I will not call for his head, just like I did not with Bush.
