How is that different from wearing it as a tie clip, or lapel pin, as I've seen at VFW gatherings?

I've also seen t-shirts with US flags on them at VFW meetings and FR protests. Do you think a t-shirt looks ok on a flagpole? I feel like I've time-machined back to the 60's revisiting this argument. Pancho or tie-clip makes no nevermind. The supremes decided you could wear a flag back in the 60's, regardless of your internal convictions, or fashion-savvy, and they were right.
