The cable networks are milking it for all it's worth.

This isn't a free speech issue and I'm sure there will be defenders that this was "art" and "artistic expression" and those that are trying to saying this was wrong are "right wing, religious fundamentalists", but that is all bunk. It's real simple... Good taste isn't tied to one's religious beliefs. Great post. And I'm a little dismayed by how many freepers there are defending this trash being on the Super Bowl.

Thanks for the nice comment and I agree that there are some being too blaise (sp?) about it. To a much smaller degree, I do think that I have heard some people that are way too overheated about the issue.
And, before people jump on me, if I want something changed or am outraged about something, I think it is best to get the facts into the right people's hands and stick to it. If you are passionate about something, you must be calm and steadfast; never wavering from your purpose.
It is a simple philosophy and is tied to my favorite word in all of the the English language: relentless. This has been my favorite word for as long as I can remember and I have even included it on my FR profile.

I'm sorry, that's not correct!!
De-regulation HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DECENCY STANDARDS. How lame can you get ..??
The only FCC change in the last 30 years, has been to get rid of the "Fairness Doctrine". That was a great move by the FCC and the Congress, and the liberals' attempts to try and bring it back have failed miserably.

One wonders why people hate Christians...
No doubt Christians will play a greater role
in some Super Bowl half-time shows.

I really can't believe how many posts that poor plug-ugly booby has generated. If I were her, I would be embarrased.
Poor woman, it looks totally shapeless, and has no semblance of ever having given sustenance to a babe.
Speaking as a mom who used hers for the God-given purpose, and has a husband who likes them, all comfy and lived in. Her poor lonely pierced nipple is a subject of grief, not titillation.
The whole subject is really beneath our attention. But momma's milk, and the loving breast, adored by a giving husband, is not. It is a pearl beyond price.
The devaluation of a woman's most valuable asset really hurts. Think about it.

Update from AOL Corporate HQ:
Just got a phone call back from Dottie McCain, a member of an AOL Corporate Committee called 'Escalations'.
A five member committee is investigating the lewd behavior of Jane Jackson & Justin Timberlake at the AOL sponsored Super Bowl half-time show.
Please send your comments to Dottie McCain here:
DCMCCAINJAX@aol.com Also call this number at AOL HQ between 9-5 pm M-F:
1-703-265-1000
Ask the switchboard operator to connect you with 'Escalations'.
She assured me that a live person on the committee would take the call.
I told her that AOL will suffer serious financial losses unless there are consequences for those responsible. And I am contemplating taking a loss of several thousand dollars in a stock sale.
Emails from Freepers who are AOL members and/or stockholders will be most effective but I urge everyone to email & Call ASAP.
Please ping others to this post.

Thanks for the email address.
I was "kind" enough to forward MTV's web page to them -- you know, the one that was up there BRAGGING about what they were going to do -- BEFORE they removed it.
I just happened to email it to myself last night. :-)

Please read my post #1191; then send email & call as suggested.
Please ping others to #1191 to join the effort to make AOL require consequences for those responsible for the lewd behavior on Super Bowl Half-time Show.
Thanks, Julie

Thanks for the addresses. I've sent several emails already today, and I'll be sending several more. I haven't turned the TV on today, but I sincerely hope that the news networks aren't showing it OVER and OVER again like the Britney/Madonna kiss. I suspect they are, though.
To: lsucat
Please also email your family's experience to the person in my post #1191......she will be reporting complaints to the AOL corporate management.

My response from the Houston District Attorney's office:
I concur with your outrage but the law in Texas does not criminalize the exposure of a woman's breast in public. The touching of the breast of another to gratify sexual desire is only specifically prohibited if the person touched is under the age of 17 years. I did not see the act, but as I understand the facts, Ms. Jackson could have filed an assault complaint. I do not know whether she has done so or not.
I'm fairly certain she has not filed an assault complaint.
To: JulieRNR21
I have. Thanks for the info.
To: Barnacle
Oh, that is an all-time best response. How well done!
