Fox News channel is reporting that Continental Airlines flight 1519 scheduled to depart Washington Dulles International Airport at 5:35 p.m. for G.H.W. Bush International Airport in Houston has been canceled due to terror concerns.
This particular flight number turned up in electronic intercepts, but no specific info about method, target, etc. was picked up.
Continental released a statement saying they could not meet heightened requirements by Homeland Security for the flight so they canceled it. Government sources told Fox News this was not related to the Super Bowl.

They say it's not the Super Bowl, but I rather wish they would put the roof over the dome for protection.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.
This is NOT related to the Super Bowl.
Move along folks.
To: Peach
Don't think that would make much of a difference.

It would have arrived at 8:10 p.m. Houston time, about the end of the third quarter of the game.

The flights cancelled so far and time window. Planned attack on NYC (via Newark) and DC (via Dulles) prior to Superbowl kickoff?
5:30P: 2nd leg of CO 17 (refueled) depart Newark to hit NYC
5:44P: CO 1519 depart Dulles to attack DC
6:00P: Superbowl TV start
6:25P: Superbowl Kickoff
6:20P BA 233 scheduled to arrive at Dulles at 6:20p
6:30P AF 026 scheduled to arrive at Dulles at 6:30p
Houston is not the target. NYC and DC are.

they could never get a plane near the stadium. personally, I don't even think a hijack is possible anymore. more then likely, the goal is to blow the plane up on the approach to Houston and cause media attention to turn to that during the game. this plane was scheduled to land at 8:10PM in Houston, halftime....
To: leadpenny
You're probably right.

How did this take so long to get posted? Fox has been reporting this for over an hour.

That sounds about right. It's how AQ would plan it too in terms of timing.

I doubt that the roof would be much protection. But I doubt that anything will happen there, in any case.
I think it's much more likely that these things relate to Islamic holidays, strange numerology, etc., and I think it's date related. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think it relates more to them than to us.
They'd probably be thrilled to do in the crowd at the SuperBowl, but they probably realize they realize they have little chance of doing this, and they're probably proceeding towards their original objective.
IMHO, since I think the image in the famous website picture is not the stadium but the Pentagon, which they tried to destroy once before, that would be DC.
