[history]
The first time I saw Bob Dornan in person was in Iowa in 1995 when he was running for the GOP presidential nomination. Assorted activists were invited to a small-group gathering at a downtown Des Moines hotel to hear this renowned conservative firebrand.

Other than oppose the Patriot Act, just what has Saffuri advocated that is beyond the pale?
He donated $20k to the Holy Land Foundation, prior to their recognition as a terror org, but when it was public knowledge that they were giving money to the children of palestinian omicide bombers. Saffuri and Norquist's Islamic Institute recieved over $150,000 in funds from Qatar, at a time when Qatar was donating $500 each to families of homicide bombers. Qatar, like Saudi Arabia, is a Wahabbi State, and is as reliable an ally. "It's OK, it's only Qatar" is not a compelling alibi for associations with the host of Al Jazeera. Saffuri was also one of several pro-Islamists who used their access to pressure Treasury Secretary O'Niell in early 2002, about Treasury's raids on the SAFA group, another since-outlawed terror org. Saffuri's most suspicious activities revolve around his many associations with folks like Alamouhdi and Al Arian, who later turn out to be major terrorists whose capture was facilitated by the Patriot Act and similar legislation, which Saffuri has aggressively opposed. How many terrorists, terror symps, and terror orgs have you accidentally done business with? Yet it happens to Khaled Saffuri all the time.

If I was in that district, I'd probably vote for Rohrabacher, but be glad he's getting scrutiny on this. I am in the district and am getting nervous about my choices!

See ya later... got to go visiting for a bit and catch the game on big screen and consume copious amounts of beverages and foods.
Just Thank God you have a choice on who you vote for and the right to choose not to as well, unlike Cuba or China or a lot of nations in the UN. ;-]

Have fun, I'll be watching the game , at least at first.
If the Patriots do what they did to the Colts, it will get rather uninteresting!

He did something really good for me. Someday I'll repay him.

I like B1 Bob. I don't go around pretending I'm too good for him. I will admit that B1 may too rambunctious for today's brand of feminized politics where a Howard Dean is put down over a war whoop.

***Hannity got sandbagged by the both of them. Thanks for the info. I know as much as Hannity does and hope he investigates.
An afterthought: Before Rohrabacher came on the Hannity Show the first time the other day, Dornan referenced the Front Page Magazine article I reposted at #31, and appeared to know his stuff about Saffuri. When Dana bailed out because Dornan was on, I laughed in disbelief. I thought it was cowardly; I thought he squealed like a bitch; and I thought then and think now that the real reason he wouldn't appear with Dornan was because he is afraid to answer knowledgable questions about his ties with Saffuri, which were Dornan's main point about Rohrabacher. When Rohrabacher came on the second time, after Dornan left, he talked about how Dornan was spreading lies to unnamed journalists that Rohrabacher was a homosexual, and other past slights, none of which I heard Dornan mention. It was a convenient out for Rohrabacher, and he went with the "Saffuri is a moderate confidante of President Bush" defense. Hannity doesn't know enough to know that's a highly inadequate repsonse. The Rohrabacher appearance on Hannity reminded me of Grover Norquist's appearance on the Hugh Hewitt Show in December, on many of these same issues. Lot's of glossy, insubstantial evasions about ties to Islamic Fifth Columnists.

painful to listen to, embarrasing, and classless. Which is really what cost him his seat when he ran against Sanchez in 1996 and when he ran against Sanchez again... who isn't exactly dripping in class herself.
To: ambrose
He's a white Republican version of a Cynthia McKinney or Maxine Waters. ooooo, that's very good. High five.
To: cyborg
I think Sean Hannity is going to try to get them to make peace. As long as it involves Dornan, it won't happen.
To: NormsRevenge
Bob Dornan used to be a good man who got cheated out of his seat in congress by illegals. He is right to be angry with the GOP for not defending him.
However, in the past couple of years he has gone completely off the deepend and is not responsible.
To: Sabertooth
I suppose it comes down to what did he know, and when did he know it. I remember Dana from his inhaling days, when life was grand.

Well, there was this silly piece of legislation called the Partial Birth Abortion Ban...
With Dana's seniority, he surely could've had his name put on...but no, he's just a slacker.

Well, there was this silly piece of legislation called the Partial Birth Abortion Ban...
With Dana's seniority, he surely could've had his name put on...but no, he's just a slacker. That was a good bill.
It was vetoed by Clinton earlier.
All the other bills I am aware of were deliberately written as Red Meat for the right, knowing they went too far and could never pass or be upheld. It is a cheap political trick, and one of the few that Dornan didn't sink to.
Dornan was already out of congress when the bill came up, either under Clinton or Bush, so naturally his name wasn't on it.
The sponsors probably wouldn't have wanted him anyway. His sponsorship would just rouse the liberals to try harder to defeat it.

B-1 Bob comes across as a happily married family man, catholic, and conservative. About 25 years ago I was at a GOP get together in LA in which B-1 Bob was one the attendees. I was there with a girl friend and B-1 Bob made a pass at my lady friend. When she told me about the incident later she said she had no doubt what his intentions were. Every time I read about him I think of that event.
