A sincere observation.
By continually posting these reports, especially in the Breaking News sidebar, this website has become the premier site to track these losses. This almost instantanoeus, widely collated, information is then dissemented to other information sources. A free Nexus Lexus for our poltical opponents.
This pattern of continually and accurately informing the world, and Bush's detractors, of our losses is probably not in the best interest of our cause if we wish Bush to be reelected.
I'm not suggesting the information be suppressed but I am suggesting posting reports of every loud sound in downtown Baghdad, or every loss of our brave combatants on the Breaking News sidebar plays directly into the hands or our political enemies.

Do you honestly believe that they don't watch TV also?

I know your heart is in the right place, but this is the best place to report these incidences......where the attacks are talked about in ACCURATE context of WHY we are there, IMHO. CNN is probably playing them over and over and over, in THEIR context.

Let's think about our fellow FReepers' husbands and sons first, and discuss the policy aspects later.

BREAKING NEWS DOES NOT HAPPEN HERE FIRST!!!YOU need to tell THAT to FOX NEWS who broke the story first on LIVE TV- where the 'bad guys' most likely heard the story AT THE SAME TIME.
We are merely repeating the information we hear on the news.
Besides, if this was where YOUR HUSBAND was stationed - YOU'D BE HERE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR INFORMATION TOO!

I know you must not realize the number of families on FR directly affected by news like this.We want to do our small part by showing love, appreciation, and support while they wait to see if their loved one is OK.The waiting is long.
