[history]
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Presidential candidate John F. Kerry yesterday took aim at Republicans for questioning Democrats' patriotism, and several fellow military veterans blasted President Bush as a failed commander in chief who once dodged military service and suffers from never having learned the lessons of war.

Cleland has lost all credibility here in Georgia. He was not re-elected due to the fact that all he ever did was spew the Demo. party line during his tenureYep....when it became well known that he voted against the Boy Scouts, his goose was cooked here.

Better get use to it. This were Kerry and the Dems are going to his Bush; his service record. The Dems have a vet and they're going to play it for all it's worth.

He scored 25% on his entry test, yet was passed over 500 others waiting for a flying slot.
You want to provide a link or proof of the 'passed over 500 others waiting for a flying slot.'? do you think you can?

Yes, I know - and it's a bad strategy, imo. The American people see him as strong on defense because he has clearly demonstrated that he is, not because he was in the ANG many years ago. The Democrats who are critical of him are only going to resonate with those who already hate the man. That's my guess, anyway.

LOL..... yep I wanna see that one.... Now it's true he did score 25% or percentile on one section of the entrance test which was the lowest acceptable.... I can't remember what the section was on, maybe mechanical appitude, I'm not sure.... He did much better on all the other sections.

What bullsh*t. If you're in the Guard you may be called up at anytime.
I'm sure Cleland's comments will go over real well with the soldiers and families of guard and reserve soldiers that have been stuck in Iraq for the past 12-18 months. That's why this loser isn't a US Senator anymore.

Why impugn Bush's record now after a masterful demonstration of prowess as CinC?
You, my friend, have unwrapped the mystery of this coming election. What difference does Bush's past military record make? Love or hate him, he will be the only one running in the fall who has passed the test of defending this country. An impossible test to pass for a challenger.

From a military commander and chief point of view, Bush does not have a single military critic.
I am sure we both expect Rove et al to make sure everyone in this country is reminded of that fact this fall.

Do a web search. I'd rather vote for Dean then Kerry. I much rather had a choice.
While your still talking Clinton. Bush has taken your rights.

Does it really matter if can prove any of his claims or not? That was thirty years ago. Bush has admitted he was often a fool in his youth. He grew up over the years and did the things he needed to do to become a good leader. Kerry may have shown more promise as a young man, but that was then. What matters now is that Bush is fighting when we need to fight, and winning. Kerry will endanger our security by going the UN route.

Well then provide it. You bear the burden of proving kooky statements.
