Cynics have accused America of becoming interested in Sudan because of its oil. That is unlikely.

A journalist who doesn't believe the U.S. isn't motivated by oil? Good grief, I never thought I would see the day.

You don't think that US and Britain wouldn't like to get their hands on some of that oil? They're treating Sudan with kid gloves for what they're doing.

A formal peace deal is expected next month after a string of accords supposedly addressing the causes of a war that has claimed more than two million lives.

So surrender now, lay down your arms, because the Moslems are going to sign a treaty... someday.
