I'm still supporting President Bush, but I'll be picketing my state convention before I go in to vote. The GOP needs a good swift boot in the rear, before the election.

If you are off the GOP reservation and do not vote for President Bush you will probably be looking for more and bigger 9-11's.
That does not make good sense to me. But, only time will tell.
I would prefer to have adults in charge of the nation rather than hateful, angry and spoiled children. Adults = elephants and children = donkeys

But conservative is a relative wordThere are at least two conservative factions. Classical Liberals and Social Conservatives. The two are mutually exclusive in the long run. The only thing they can agree on is the left usually has bad ideas.

I think we have a bunch of people showing up here who boycotted their proms and still haven't gotten over not getting their way about how to decorate the gym. ;)

Good grief, its like talking to a Democrat when Bill Clinton was be-boppiin on Monica.
Do you really expect this country to survive as a free nation, even for the "hard working, law abiding legals", when our politicians refuse to close down the borders and begin to deport those who are here illegally?
I'm telling you, every American is going to pay a heavy price for what the politicians have done. Even the legal immigrants.

QUESTION: What percent of Americans who will vote in Nov 2004 do you think are CONSERVATIVES?

That would be the best alternative. Vote the dems into oblivion and tell the pubs ok now either shape up or ship out.

***I'm at the point where I believe gridlock would be a better mode of governance.***
There is ALWAYS gridlock. Even with a Republican House, Senate and White House, there is gridlock. The Republicans have to satisfy the voters back home. Can you say PORK? Can you say SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS?
With the Dems in control of Congress, it will be impossible to save this country from socialism. Do you want Hillary Care?

I would suggest that conservative is not slotted or two groupings or a dozen.
I would suggest it is a continuum. We all are on some point of the continuum.

Works for me. I don't believe we can change the outcome of Bush's re-election anyway. I don't advocate going third-party or being a stay-home. But if I don't find a conservative somewhere on my own ballot (state/local), I might since I live in an all-Red state.
I don't want Bush out of the White House. I want a conservative Congress. Smaller government, less spending, the classic conservative position.

Sorry HMama.. I know from your posts on this thread you are not anti-GWB.
I was just TOO lazy to copy, paste or type all the NEGATIVE names...
And I am being honest enough to tell you
Now I have to go out in Ohio's yukky weather (below zero) in crust topped snow & walk my pooch whose tail is awagging & who needs - along with me - the exercise)
Now HM.. you & everyone else be good! *G*
Might check in later but going to concert later & need to try to look decent!
(BTW - yukky foods you have eaten !)
See Bush bashers.. we who will vote for GWB do NOT agree on everything!

I'm just saying the obvious: we need to remember all the legal immigrants and have some care that we aren't perceived as anti-Mexican. I'm not. I'm for orderly immigration. We need immigration. It's how it will be done that is the question.
But I ain't your daddy and I'm not scolding you. But some other posts on the illegals problem seem to ignore the legal immigrants that we need to have.

Tearing things down. Oh, give me strength.
We have such a thing as laws in this country. Agree? Agreed. We have an immigration policy. Agree? Agreed. Our politicians are idiots because they have let this problem go on far too long. Agree? Agreed.
I'll give you some answers, you can call it "tearing down" if you want to.
Withdraw all benefits from illegals. Jail any business person who knowingly hires illegals. Began a deportation of those who are here illegally, and give our states back to their rightful owners, the citizens.
