[history]
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger denied clemency Friday to an escaped felon who went on a killing spree, stabbing and hacking four victims with a buck knife and hatchet.
Kevin Cooper, 46, was convicted in the 1983 murders of Douglas and Peggy Ryen, both 41, their 10-year-old daughter, Jessica, and her 11-year-old friend, Christopher Hughes. The Ryens' 8-year-old son, Joshua, survived a slit throat.

Said Arnold: "You won't be back."

His attorneys have also said that Cooper may suffer from mental deficiency from an auto accident that happened while he was a young man. Poor boy, probably an SUV to boot....

"There is no bringing back the dead," Amidon said.
The Ryen and Hughes families know that all too well.

Twenty-one years this murderer's case has dragged on. That is truly outrageous.

Savage will be having a tailgate party at San Quentin when this DNA documented mass murderer gets that needle to eternity.

After all, how many times will you return to a store if they don't provide the service/product you want.Soon, Kevin Cooper won't even think about returning to that store. I, for one, will sleep much better for it, knowing my family is a little safer with him dead.
BTW welcome to FR.

Hmm..... I think it would be best to leave the "Terminator" term out of this thread, because it just plays in to the liberal base. Plus who cares what Arnold's previous occupation was? You are invalidating his entire decision.

Wow, Kalifornia is actually going to execute someone? Maybe if they'd hurry up and clean out the largest death row in the country it would help the old bottom line just a bit.

because it just plays in to the liberal base Hmmm... No, it stays. But thanks for the input. (Some might say he is still an actor as he works in controlled settings and has absolute control over the script rewrites.)

Good for him. I like some of Arnold's insticts, and don't others. So much for the Kennedy clan dictates.
To: Rummyfan
Amen! It's an insult to any "civilized" society that this pond scum lasted this long.

In this instance, his reasoning and final decision are worthy of commendation.
This part of being Governor has to be a terribly trying one and certainly not one that would make one want to be a Governor.
But it goes with the job of being the head official of a state, in states that still have the death penalty, that is.

John and Ken (KFI - Los Angeles) had the parent of one of the kids killed by this beast, on the other night. Make no mistake about it, I'd weight the issue and pass the same verdict as Arnold did without flinching. Thinking of reviewing documents with the intent of weighing a (sub)-human's life in the balance is indeed sobering. I agree with you.
If anyone deserves to go, this guy does. Fry him!!!

I just stumbled across this case the other day. This is another Mumia Abu-Jamal. The conviction of this piece of garbage is ironclad, but the socialists want to discredit the judicial system by letting him go. If you have any voice at all, raise it in favor of gassing this trash.
Death to Kevin Cooper!!!

Here's his website:
http://www.savekevincooper.org/ It's dedicated to his writings, which mostly concern how unjust the death penalty is, how racist it is, etc., etc.. I didn't see one word of repentance for the horrible acts he committed (it might be there, but if so it's not apparent at all).
It seems to me that Arnie made the correct decision.
