Chuck's sold 2,370 guns traced to crimes between 1996 and 2000,

A couple of things: I'm thinking that the 2,370 is a small potatoes compared to those bought on the street.

No point in arguing logic with such people, they're 100% emotion. The "report" which listed the high-volume gun dealers to which a majority of "crime guns" were traced *did* grudingly include the acknowledgement that the crimes were not committed by the original purchasers. One can only conclude that the true crime of each such dealer, in the eyes of the anti-gun left, is their success. "Merchants of death & destruction, yada, yada."

The report goes on to comment, IIRC, that even though those dealers might *technically* have done nothing wrong, they still were deserving of continued close scrutiny. No logical reason assigned, per usual.

Of those 2,370 guns how many were sold illegally? I would have to think that with all of the federal regs and oversight that this guy would have been locked up along time ago if he were doing anything wrong.
The police are public servants paid to protect and serve the citizens and enforce the laws that are on the books. They have absolutely no place taking part in any type of protests. Some police presence may be needed to preserve order when those anti-gunners get riled up.

"A couple of things:
Of that 2370 number how many were sold to a legitimate buyer who then gave it to a friend?
How many total guns did Chuck's sell in that period?
How many total guns were used in crimes during that time period? "

You forgot: How many were sold to a legitimate buyer and were later stolen?

Perhaps more to the point, how many of these guns were traced by the ATF because the Chicago police suspected a law-abiding citizen of keeping and bearing arms in defiance of Illinois law?

"......how many were sold to a legitimate buyer who then gave it to a friend?"

Or how many were sold to legitimate buyers who had the guns later stolen through no fault of their own?
