Task Force "All-American" Continues Operations, Skirmish At Police Station

AR RAMADI, Iraq - The 82nd Airborne Division and its subordinate units continued missions on Jan. 29 to bring peace and prosperity to the residents of the Al Anbar province.

The 82nd Airborne Division conducted 256 patrols, including 13 joint patrols, cleared eight caches, and executed four offensive operations. At the Trebil border crossing, 20 personnel and 14 vehicles were denied access because the passengers lacked passports.

At 7 a.m., elements of 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, conducted a search north of Jurf As Sakhr, approximately five miles west of Iskandariyah, to kill or capture enemy forces emplacing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Soldiers detained 50 looters and 15 trucks, which they turned over to the local police.
