Israel has decided for now to hold back in its response to Thursday's suicide bombing. At the conclusion of consultations on possible responses to the bombing that were held Thursday by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz with the heads of the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security service, it was decided not to renew the closure on the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and to continue to allow some 30,000 Palestinian workers and businesspeople to enter Israel.

The Shin Bet opposed the decision, and recommended more extreme measures because of the continuing warnings of attacks. Today, the number of specific attack alerts stands at 55.

Before the meeting, political and military sources said that "there would be a military response," but that it would be a measured one, and "tactical rather than strategic."

Yes, the timing of this was horrible. When it was done before, it happened after the PA had at least made a show of etting things under control.

At the least, the exchange should have been halted immediately after this occured, the Israeli government should have announce that they were acceeding to the heartfelt plea of Al-Aqsa Brigades and their "policeman," and that the 400 would serve out their sentences.

It is late at night, and I am too tired to go far with this but do not discount the idea of wiping out the killers house. Over here the Arabs all live in the same house, generations of them. Most Arab houses are three or more stories and about a dozen or more rooms. In the US you would have to pay a cool half a million or more for it.

It is not just the terrorists investment that is wiped out, it is the extended family line's investment that is wiped.

Islamic countries cannot trust the banks to their dictators, so instead of putting gold in a bank when a windfall comes to a member of the family, they just buy bricks.

So from an eastern perspective, this is a total disaster for the terrorist family tree.

I got to get pictures of some of these homes for you guys, they are unreal. Villages with PA figures in them are sprouting 5 story 50 room buildings like mushrooms since the $130,000,000 cash bonus from Bush was granted for "emergency operating funds" for the "poor" oppressed Palestinians. Houses that you all could not afford in your wildest dreams.
