Mexico buys missile launchers from Israel
The Mexican Navy announced yesterday that it has bought from Israel two fully operational Aliya class speed boats capable of launching 5 Gabriel missile each. Naval Captain Arturo Flores Gil told the Mexico City "La Jornada" newspaper that Mexico had paid Israel 60 million dollars for the two naval missile launchers and 10 missiles. Each missile is capable of being outfitted with nuclear warheads.
Why would Mexico spend such large sums of money for weapons at a time when countless of Mexicans have no tortillas nor frijoles to eat and are being force to migrate to the USA? Captain Arturo Flores Gil said that the highly sophisticated weapons are needed to protect the 360 PEMEX oil rigs in the waters off Campeche. The Campeche oil fields are the richest in Mexico that produces 83% of the nation's oil.
When La Jornada asked Captain Arturo Flores Gil whether the weapons purchase meant that Mexico is collaborating with the Israeli Defense Forces, he answered, "It was a purchase based strictly on commercial considerations." President Vicente Fox Quesada of the Partido Accion Nacional (PAN) has been increasingly criticized for the disproportionate number of Jews in his administration and for taking large sums of money from Jewish groups in the USA during his campaign.

Captain Arturo Flores Gil said that the highly sophisticated weapons are needed to protect the 360 PEMEX oil rigs in the waters off Campeche. This is partly true, but mostly just a cover story. The more important reason is that, within a few years, Mexico foresees the need to protect its borders from Americans sneaking across to work in their factories.

I admit, I laughed at the line too. The mental image I get is hilarious.

That's not the true story. The real story is that the really powerful Mexican drigs lords want to expand their delivery service where the Mexican army will deliver any quantity to any point in the US. The Mexicans greatest fear is that someday, President Bush will ask the United Nations to provide troops to defend our border. The UN will do so much better than Bush has done that Presidente Fox is anticipating.
With the missle ships, Fox and his drug lord employers will be able to safeguard ocean deliveries of Mexican dope and Cuban/Saudi terrorists all up and down the coast without fear of the UN and its power.

I sure do hope Pres Fox doesn't plan on using them against us...cause there's just too much excellent shoreline in Mexico SCREAMING to be redeveloped into some PRIME U.S. RESORT LAND, and we're JUST the guys to do it!

I don't consider Mexico a military threat necessarilly but neither did I feel the same about Castro in Cuba at the time. If we are seeing nuclear capable missiles in Mexico we may be seeing a similar arrangement of something that could escalate into a similiar event we watched develop in Cuba in 1963. What would prevent China or North Korea providing even more sophisticated equipment to El Presidente to toy around with. Every day brings new challenges in this hemisphere and the Monroe Doctrine has been challenged once again; what are we to do now?

.............two naval missile launchers and 10 missiles. Each missile is capable of being outfitted with nuclear warheads. This can be viewed as a greater threat than was Iraq and call for immediate preemptive strike !
