[history]
When things were darkest in his presidential campaign, John Kerry turned to his "band of brothers" -- a group of veterans whom he had relied on in Vietnam 30 years ago.
"We're a little older, a little grayer, but we still know how to fight for our country," Kerry said Tuesday, claiming his victory in the New Hampshire primary. It came in no small part by highlighting a war-hero history that should serve him well in upcoming campaign tests.

I wonder how much contact he had with the band of brothers over the last 30 years? Bring them out when it suits you eh john? Make sure you pay them enough.

"Fighting against special interests" is the most overused phrase in Washington. They're always "fighting" Big Oil or Big Pharmacy. A) How do they fight them? Certainly not by turning away their campaign contributions and B) Don't they take into account that companies like "Big Oil" employ hundreds of thousands of Americans and deliver products we need?
Question on "special interests" - are there "generic interests"? Like: "I'm a lobbyist for all people - no one in particular".

Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry
U.S. Veteran Dispatch -- On the campaign trail, Sen. John Forbes Kerry regularly mentions his Vietnam War combat experience, during which he received three Purple Hearts, the Silver Star and Bronze Star.
However, the Massachusetts Democrat doesn't like to talk much about how he received the awards or the time after he returned home when he was rubbing shoulders with Hanoi Jane Fonda as a much-celebrated organizer for Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), one of America's most radical pro-communist groups.
About this photograph
Sen. Kerry, the "noble statesman" and "highly decorated Vietnam vet" of today, is a far cry from Kerry, the radical, hippie-like leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) in the early 1970s.
Soon after Kerry, as a Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) commanding a Swift boat in Vietnam, was awarded the Silver Star, he used an obscure Navy regulation to leave Vietnam and his crew before completing his tour of duty.
After returing home, he quit the Navy early and changed the color of his politics to become a leader of VVAW. Kerry wasted no time organizing opposition in the United States against the efforts of his former buddies still ducking communist bullets back in Vietnam.
Kerry participated in the so-called Winter Soldier Investigation where his fellow protesters accused his fellow GIs of war crimes.
Kerry's betrayal of American prisoners of war, his blatant disrespect for the families of our missing in action, Vietnam veterans, the military, his support for communist Vietnam and his waffling over the issue of use of force in Iraq proves he is a self promoting Chameleon Senator who cannot be relied on to protect the best interests of the United States.
Although Kerry voted to support military intervention in Iraq he is now claiming that he only approved the threat of force by the United States.
The Constitution for the United States of America declares: "The President shall be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several States when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment."
Read the following and decide for yourself if you trust this man to be our Commander-in-Chief.

Most prominent are Del Sandusky, a suburban Chicago man who captained one of Kerry's boats,
and Jim Rassmann, an Oregon man whom Kerry rescued in 1969.
If someone had saved my life during combat...I might even do what Mr. Rassman is doing.
But for any of the other "band of brothers" not similary indebted to Kerry,
if they are real patriots, they should have been calling him over the past couple
of decades and ask him how he morphed into a political whore and gigilo.
I feel bad saying such harsh things about Kerry...but someone should have shaken him
hard a LONG time ago.

'JOHN KERRY = Enemy of Vietnam Vets'
Thanks for checking in, AR.
Just let me know if I'm buggin' you with all the pings to the Kerry thread.
I printed out that National Review Online article about Kerry's use of duplicity
on the issue of Vietnam for political advantage...I'll do what I can to spread the word.
