You make it out here Sam, and we'll feed ya' enchiladas and cerveza.

They probably have those back in Bean Town. But what he needs to eat are green chili chicken enchiladas with fresh Hatch green chili. Best to come out in September for that and watch it being roasted. The aroma is like nothing else.

A suspicious bag forced authorities to evacuate part of the Albuquerque International Sunport for about two hours Thursday.

Airport spokeswoman Jonnie Banks says a bomb-sniffing dog alerted authorities to the bag just after 11 a.m. during a routine sweep behind an airline ticket counter.

Authorities immediately evacuated the area and nearby baggage claim. The FBI and the Transportation Security Administration were investigating, and a bomb squad had been called in to assist.

A representative of a Russian acrobatic group called “Akhe” tells Eyewitness News 4 the bag belonged to one of his performers. He said the group was performing at the University of New Mexico. He said they use pyrotechnics in their act, and residue from the fireworks were likely present on the bag and caught the dog’s attention.

Authorities began letting travelers back into the terminal just before 1 p.m.

Several flights were delayed as a result of the evacuation and traffic was blocked to the terminal. Travelers to the airport were asked to contact their airline to check on their flight’s status.

Tune to Eyewitness News 4 at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. for more on this story.
