It should be noted that Roy Neel-- Al Gore's consigliere-- was also suggested to Howard Dean [to run his campaign] by the AFSCME and SEIU unions who are demanding willing results from Dean...or else.
While no one in the Dean camp called the conversations ultimatiums, sources inside the Dean campaign said that both AFSCME President Gerald MceNtee and SEIU President Andrew Stern made it clear to senior Dean advisors that the candidate must win in next weeks races or face the prospect that both unions will publicly announce that they are reconsidering their endorsements and support.
It's embarassing for Dean, but it's not embarassing if you jump horses midstream, says an AFSCME lobbyist in Washington. You think John Kerry is going to turn us down?' We went first with the man who best suited our interests.'
AFL-CIO President John Sweeney--of which AFSCME and the SEIU are a part of-- has said little about where his union stands on an overall endorsement.

Looks like the wheels are turning to make Kerry the inevitable frontrunner.

Yep, at least we get to watch the Rev. Al Show for a little while longer. That is worth something.

Time for Howie Dean to get on the small fishing boat in the middle of the lake..nothing personal, just business!

Well they are flush with cash, after all.

Rev. Al demanding his prime time Boston convention slot is going to be the only drama left soon..

LOL! The Union support did CRAP for Dean and Gephardt in Iowa. Who the h*ll cares who they endorse? Maybe Kerry doesn't want them. He did better without them.

Or have an unexpectedly unpleasant stop at a toll booth, if you're referring to the movie I think you are. ;)

And no campaign stops near the New Jersey Meadowlands/Giants Stadium enzone..

Rev. Al is running a strong third now at 15% in South Carolina. (and no one knows if that is his high)

Oh, I hope he gets more. I want to see him on national TV at full bray. (Bet they do not show him)
If there is anyone that truly embodies the Democratic party it is the Rev.

Looks like the wheels are turning to make Kerry the inevitable frontrunner. Of course! The Dems couldn't have missed the Republican support for Dean, and decided to run a candidate who they think will be more "competetive". Unfortunately for the Dems, Bush is going to win the next election, and they should just get used to it.

Looks like the party leadership to cut bait on Dean.
It was a nice ride for awhile, perhaps convincing the wacko liberal base that they really give a hoot.
Looks like the general election is starting, time to go back to the center..

Im hoping for another Howie meltdown as well, just like the 'I Have a Scream' Iowa speech. (especially when he hears that everyone is deserting him)

Someone on Fox News yesterday said "Howard Dean was the man of the year. Unfortunately it was the year 2003, and not 2004 when he needed it."

Unless Kerry self destructs, it looks like the Dean campaign is over.

Guess ole Teddy is busy making phone calls on behalf of his boy, Kerry.
