You could whatever women are in your family with your buddies and tell me it is none of my business if you pimp them out but you would be wrong. Who said anything about prostitution? That's a different discussion. We're just talking about the good old-fashioned lap dance- that's as American as apple pie and the flag.

They bring hatred on the American military for no good reason. People hate the American military no matter what. At least our boys can have a good time while being hated.

They breathalyze troops returning to post now in some places.
It's insanity.

I kinda though it was associated with making a buck. Last I heard, that was an American kinda thing to do. Hell, the lap dance is an American invention. These soldiers are just spreading American values. Think of it as a cultural exchange.

I thought it was you advocating it in this thread. Is the activity you are advocating acceptable for your wife, sister(s), daughter(s), and grandaughter(s) (and it is only a matter of time before the boys are for sale too) to ply for any leering wretch who can pay ?
To: Squantos
Stay Safe Sir ! Hah! You forget, I resigned my commission and am now an NCO in the part-time Nasty Guard. It's crap like this that makes me glad I did--I could never enforce these Horsecrap rules, break morale and degrade our fighting ability.
I work for a (part-time) living! Man I've wanted to say that for a long time.
And you just take that tagline out of here! Is that any kind of a decent, honorable tagline for a former American Fighting Man! :p
To: af_vet_1981
I thought it was you advocating it in this thread I was talking about lapdancing, others were talking about prostitution. I wasn't advocating any of this, just saying that the military shouldn't be such bluenoses about it.
Is the activity you are advocating acceptable for your wife, sister(s), daughter(s), and grandaughter(s).......to ply for any leering wretch who can pay ?
Acceptable? No. Would I want government to ban it? No. If consenting adults want to pay/be paid for sexual activities, it's none of my business.

Encouraging vulgar activity that could possibly result in producing illegitimate babies is hardly wise. I hope we learn from things like Shan-gri-La RR bases and Vietnam entertainment clubs.

"This is my Rifle! This is my gun!"
"This is for fighting! and this is for use only in the sanctity of holy matrimony strictly in the missionary position because I honor all women equally."
I wanted to be a soldier, not a boy scout, a sunday school teacher or a preacher.
Are you really sure you want a military purged of guys who like lap dances, hookers and drink?

I have two aunts who are products of soldier rape from World War Two when the US had a base down in South America. Back then, the brass looked the other way when soldiers went into the country. I find this casual attitude about sex to be shocking.

To: cyborg
I find this casual attitude about sex to be shocking. Don't think for an instant that it represents the mainstream of the military or FR. It is a decadent, debauched, and depraved mindset that is destined for hell.
To: cyborg
I'm sure we all agree there are lines that cannot be crossed, and if a military man commits a violent act on a civilian woman he should be punished to the fullest possible extent. I believe an incident like this happened in Japan just a few years ago.
But I think it's a bit of a stretch to equate a lap dance with rape.
