The history channel recently had a prg about the history of sex, during WW II the "ladies" in Hawaii had the GI's lined up for blocks, this is nothing new During WWI, American soldiers in France experienced, for the first time the fine art of Monica-love (if you catch my meaning). Apparently, that type of luvin' was very rare back in the US at the time. Soldiers brought it back and started demanding that type of attention from their wives and girlfriends. It was a revolution, of sorts.

"My wife came here as a dancer. She went to dance school. The club owner said, 'You can dance and make $500 a month or you can sit with the customers and if they buy you a drink you will make more.' Every guy I knew who married a hooker out of a bar had a similar story. Their wives didn't actually turn tricks, they just had to pay the bar-fine to take her on a date because it was the custom.
But I have heard of other people in clubs that actually engage in prostitution.
(Wided-eyed innocence) Really?

Really, SFC is full of it.
When folks have inquired on the subject, they are all shocked to learn that most of these prostitution rings are managed by mamason (women)

Political correctness seems to have infected the military, too. You can say that again. Utter stupidity. Mrs. Grundy is always ready to stick her nose into somebody else's business.

When I was there there were no "rings" evident - the girls were independents. Of course there were payoffs to government officials, but there weren't American-style pimps or madams. They weren't necessary.

Amen to that!
We are talking about men that are trained to kill people.
I don't think I'd question them as to how they relieve stress...

The members of the 4th ID are in danger from suicide bombers and RPG attacks. The members of the 2nd ID are in danger from stray lap dances.
I think Lt. Col. Bailey needs a transfer.

I think Lt. Col. Bailey needs a transfer. He strikes me as the type of guy who has bought into all of the BS that was going on in the military during the Clinton years. Seems like a waste of a Lt. Col's time to be writing rules on lap dances. Maybe the CO put him on this as a busywork assignment, so he couldn't screw up something important?

I wonder how the mamasans will take it when Sgt. Ramona "Bull" Axlerod demands HER lapdance?

Wow. I wonder what they think about Victory Drive outside Benning?

I wonder how the mamasans will take it when Sgt. Ramona "Bull" Axlerod demands HER lapdance? Go to most strip clubs in the US, and you'll see women there, some even getting lap dances. My female friends and my fiance come to strip clubs with us and get lap dances, too. Not that unusual these days.

That is funny, isn't it? I'd love to see a poll of FReeper military guys on whether or not they find this statement as funny as we do.

Heck, when I went to jump school at Benning, they still had strippers at the "I Bar" on post.
In Korea, we had strippers at the Officer's Club--Australian ones. They were hot.
Germany is now a 'dry' tour--no beer, even off duty.
I don't know what is wrong with the Army nowadays....
It's really hardly worth doing anymore--you're micromanaged to death in your job and treated like a child.

Germany is now a 'dry' tour--no beer, even off duty. Where did you hear that?

It's really hardly worth doing anymore--you're micromanaged to death in your job and treated like a child. I graduated college in '97 and gave some serious thought to going into the military. It didn't seem like a job with a future in the Clinton years. Plus, all of the PC bullsh*t took away a lot of the appeal.
I graduated cum laude from U. of Michigan. I wonder how many other good candidates for the military in the '90's were scared off by what the Clintonistas were doing to the armed forces at the time?

I have a hard time believing the beer thing about Germany. It would be unenforceable rule. I remember Hackworth trying to spread a rumor about no alcohol in Germany a while back but I haven't seen anything else on that.
To: Modernman
this cant be for real...geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez leave the troops alone ...let em blow of some steam...granted my conduct in the military wasnt always perfect, the troops of today im sure were/are better behaved than my generation..last thing we need to do is micro manage their off time too. IMHO
