My only point is, not every Republican is boring.

No, your point is that some Republicans are just like the Democrats represented by Bill Clinton. We already knew that. Some of them were senior leaders in Congress. They are no longer in Congress. One can only show leadership by example and policy, fight for the hearts and minds. If men are so corrupt that even a little light is darkness, well then really there is no hope for them.

On the contrary they have the richest type of lives and influence many others by their leadership.

How is lust for power any better than lust for sex?

I said consenting adults, remember?

The adults are consenting when they establish the rules. They buy and sell. They pass laws to lower the age of consent. They do what they want while those without a conscience queue up.

Treat other women with the same honor, dignity, and respect you want the women in your own family to receive.

These soldiers are just spreading American values. Think of it as a cultural exchange.

I will try harder.

Yes, can you imagine. They won't even let you smoke pot with your own kids.

well, smoking reefer is not something that I endorse or care to do, but if that little wisecrack somehow makes you feel better, knock yourself out.

I talked with a Major, Captain, and 2 E-6s (all from the Kaiserslautern area). None has heard such a thing.

Dec 03 USAREUR Holiday Safety:

Personnel who plan to drink alcoholic beverages at holiday celebrations should do so in moderation and ensure that they have a safe means of getting home. Soldiers should keep in mind that a drunk-driving conviction can end their career.

Doesn't sound the Commanding General is prohibiting alcohol.

Also here is a USAREUR news release from December 03. it is perfectly legal to have things like coffee, liqueurs or cigars sent to your German home address via the German mail system or a commercial parcel service…

That’s not a direct contradiction, but it sure shows that folks can have liqueurs. I don’t that other alcohol is prohibited.

That's no the kind of commanders that I have had for the past 23 years.

I've had the opposite experience--seemed like a prayer group broke out at every formation Is this a policy over all military in all of Germany?

I believe it is strictly Army.

I have been asking around, and have heard nothing about this alchahol ban in Germany. I believe you need to start questioning the credibility of your source. This would be HUGH news, and would be broadcast everywhere. I am not sure how it is now, but when I was there, most folks weren't even living on base.

You can go out and kill people; maim, burn, whatever... But things like strip clubs, fighting and drinking are BAD, and we'll throw you out of the service for such activity!

The military amazes me sometime.

btw...I was proud of my AF service. I was in durring late Carter, early Reagan. The worst time to be in the Armed Forces. We were a bunch of HS drop outs. Many were there because prosecutors gave them a choice between that and jail. But we did miraculous things with the tools we had. We kept the Soviet army at bay, when everyone knew they were itching to invade W. Germany. To this day I believe that they could have made it to the Rhine, and left K-town and Rhein Maine in ruins. I was in a unit that was supposed to turn sections of the Autobahn into functional airbases. The Germans had great hiways for a reason.
