I'm not sure I understand why all theories aren't taught. There must be some kind of paranoid fear behind those who only want to see the theory of evolution taught. Thankfully, my kids aren't in government schools, so they can be taught from all angles.

I'm not sure I understand why all theories aren't taught. What other "theories" are there? Honestly, neither creationism nor ID meet the standards of a scientific theory. They are neither testable nor falsifiable, nor do they make any testable predictions. If there were any other "theories" you can be darned sure they would be included.

You mean to tell me you are depriving your own children of the one single enlightened elite view of where this world came from and where it's going? For shame! We're going to have to sick the state on you and your children.

Um, what other theories are there to teach?

I'm not sure I understand why all theories aren't taught.Like Scientology, pholgiston, vitalism, and that thunder is caused by Thor's hammer, or that thunder is the echoes of the God's kegling (not to mention the canoodling of Mother Earth and Father Sky.)
Theories with no explanatory power should be reserved for history classes. There's barely enough time to teach people basic science as it is.

I'm not sure I understand why all theories aren't taughtBecause we can't cover the curriculum and teach 'all theories'. As scientists, we make educated judgements about which theories have a basis in fact, and which are garbage. We do this in all fields, not just biology. That's our job. We don't teach the crackpot theories of Velikovsky in physics, we don't teach non-Cantorian mathematics, we don't teach cold fusion in chemistry. We don't pontificate on theology, and we wish biblical literalists would stay away from science.
