It's happened before, and will likely happen agian....more than once.
Why?
Because it doesn't look like any D or R or any other party are going to hunt down immigrants house by house, city by city, and state by state to deport them.
It does not have to happen.
Any attempts at mass deportation will be opposed by countless US citizens: the bleeding heart liberals, church groups, political and social activists, the Leftist academia/courts/civil rights lawyers, etc, etc. The process will be bogged down in the courts for a generation because many family members of illegals contain US citizens born here. The lawyers will get rich and the outcome will not makes us happy, IMO.
The borders can be protected and the law enforced and that is what the President should do.
Yes, that's what elected officials at all levels of goverment should do. Fixing the border problem, however, does not address the problem of illegals that are already here. Each has its own set of problems: legal, constitutional, cultural, political, societal, international....
If a Democratic President tried this, imagine the reaction here.
The Democrat candidates say that Bush's plan doesn't go far enough and there is a good chance that one of those Dems will be elected this year and implement a worse plan.
Yet Bush gets a free pass because he wears an R instead of a D.
Bush might be dumped and we'll definitely get another worse president like we did when his father was dumped.
Because Bush is a mexiphile, and, he's intimidated by that big ol' machismo hombre, Fox. Bush gets around Fox, and you can see it in his eyes. Fox struts around like the alpha male, and Bush acts like a child. Weak gestures, silly expressions, milquetoast demeanor... it's obvious that he's intimidated by Fox.
Sad, ain't it.
