Just as disengenuous as ever I see.
First of all, you linked to a post that isn't even there.
However, that did give you the chance to completely mischaracterize what I said, didn't it, so it worked for you.
For those who didn't see it, I said that I was keeping a list of those who were not voting for Bush so I could hunt them down if I had to listen to Chris Lehane as White House press secretary for the next four years.
It was a joke, you pompous A$$. Unless you don't have a sense of humor, which I suspect to be the case, you knew that though.
That's what I see, too. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
We're not the people anymore.
Wonder how Bush's donations are going?
I mean the way this administration knows its opponent, could it be Bush knows the workers program would be unpopular and goaded the Dems to one up him.
As far as I know most average people on both sides hate the workers program, how much more will they hate this new one. The Republicans in Congress won't vote for any workers program so they can use the Dems new program for fodder in the statewide elections and district elections.
This sounds like how it would play out, how many union workers will vote for a Dem who wants to legalize a bunch of illeagals who will work for nothing?
You are correct if you apply the thought to "the now". However, both parties are thinking of the future (not too distant at that) when the Hispanics are no longer just the larger minority but become the majority. Both parties want to be "party of record" for having supported the Hispanics and be deserving of their vote as a reward.
I believe all candidates at all levels of government from city councils all the way up to presidential should be asked to declare their stand on immigration before the election. Those that "support" open borders should be defeated and those that claim they will support immigration control should be elected and be held accountable and if they go back on their word then have a "recall" where applicable or vote them out if recall is not an option.
If we don't "clean house" and get rid of the legislators of both parties that have allowed this to happen then we deserve what we get.
It's time to take back our borders, our language, our customs, traditions and our national identity!!!
This is a question that I keep asking, and I wonder what might happen if a Dem pres candidate took the initiative of saying something as simple as "America has always been generous to immigrants, and I support raising the number of immigrants allowed in our doors. But American workers deserve to have safe borders and stable and lawful immigration. To preserve good American jobs, we must enforce our borders."
Where do black Americans stand on untrammelled immigrations? The one's I hear from resent the depressing force that illegal labor has on job availability and wages--and they also resent becoming minority #2.
John Edwards is coming to South Carolina soon--wonder if he'd dare seize this opportunity.
Mo, our country is seriously screwed on illegals no matter who is in the White House. The only question is who is doing the screwing and why. As much as I detest the president's plan, I don't question his motives....although I must admit I do seriously wonder what they are. With RATs, there is seldom, if ever, any question about their motives. They want votes AND they want to bastardize this country to make it easier to install their socialist government over which they reign supreme. Bush's plan is unacceptable. The RATs plans are unthinkable.
There lies the problem for the Dems, they are so dominated by liberals, someone who said that would never win the nomination. They might be able to win the general election but not the nomination.
I was wondering earlier in the year if the Dems would have the brains to come out against Bush's proposal in order to get the swing voters but instead they come out on the farther left side of the issue.
This is a perfect time for the Dems to change the whole dynamic of their party but they actually BELIEVE that illegals deserve to be treated as citizens and if you do not agree you are a racist and a xenophobe.
As far as black voters go I think they are torn. I mean lets face it, if a black Republican ran for president against a billionaire liberal Dem from Massachusets the liberal would probably get 75% of the black vote. They should be concerned with the illegals but I think they see Republicans as more of a threat to them than illegals.
