"I think people are picking her because they think the gender and skin color would appeal"
Those people are mistaken - do remember a man named Bobby Jindal?
"Who would you pick as possible Presidential candidate?"
Mark Sanford or Bill Owens would be great on every issue.
But I don't think Sanford is interested in '08 however Owens is certain to run.
Owens banned the Matricular Consular card as valid ID in Colorado, banned in state tuition to illegals, and has said he would sign a bill that bans affirmative action in Colorado State Universities.
On the other hand, Owens came out and defended the Bush Guest Worker Amnesty - but I think he said that just because he is friends with Bush.
No other 2008 candidate has as good a record on Illegal Immigration as Owens, so he is the best bet to run on a Border Control platform - his present comments on the Bush Amnesty notwithstanding.

"We're talking about a few million here, calm down.
We'd have to increase their budget by $10 million a year for a hundred years to get to a billion. "
The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" casually, think about whether you want that politician spending your tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases:
A billion seconds ago, it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate Washington spends it.
The Democrats were complaining about how long the war took, but Billion consider this:
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.
It took less time to find Saddam's sons in Iraq than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sunk at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!!!

Expect a pre-election last minute slight change of direction but it will be too late, nobody will trust him by then. One termer. I think so too.
Between his post 9/11 bump due to the feminized American mindset, him spending money like a drunken sailor, and appeasing every leftist cause in the country, his lead over Rat challengers in polls isn't that great.
His support really isn't that strong, and if he wins it will only be because the people like the Rat nominee even less.

Well.. he didnt vote for Bush last time around either, so his statement isnt really stupid. Just throwing his vote away.

And then if he loses in November, they'll blame you for it.Yes, they can't seem to understand that if they loose the election because the conservatives didn't vote for them, it's not the conservative fault, but it's their fault for not being conservative enough to give the conservatives a reason to vote for them.

the House in July added $10 million in grant funds to the NEA's budget above the president's request.. Hmmm, Pork. The other "green" meat!

Though these may not necessarily benefit each of us personally and directly, they were accomplished with the assistance of funding that would not be available were it not for the decisions of kings, princes, and the like (e.g. government). Kings, princes, and the like are NOT equivalent in any way to constitutional government. Kings and princes rule over subjects, while I am no one's subject.
The Medici family and the Pope at the time bankrolled much of Michelangelo's work - let modern-day patrons step forward and do the same. But don't ask me to do it with my tax dollars.

Then feel free to be angry, even if you and I don't have all the facts, but for God's sakes, man, don't resort to the rheotric of the Class warriors to make your point. YOU are too valuable a thinker for tha t.

How about you just throw your vote to Kerry, Dean, Edwards, or whoever the Dem nominee is.This argument is getting so weak and beat to death.
You have me confused with someone that thinks any of these people have the best interest of America.

Don't do that, vote for Michael Peroutka, send a message to the GOP that we will only support real conservatives.

It is stupid because he actually wants to give the White House to the party that is the exact opposite of what he claims to stand for.
To: GRNelson
Therefore, even though I am a conservative through and through, I will vote for the Democratic candidate for the first time in thirty years. And why the hell would you do that?

Good luck voting for anyone who is not the republican nominee. Thats what got us Clinton the last 8 years and who as a conservative was proud to see the draft dogding rapist as president. Not me and I dont think any of the 8 rats running now are any better.
To: Charlotte Corday
It's both unethical and dumb to try and buy votes from those who'll NEVER vote for you in a million years. Exactly.
Just look at what the democrats have done to him on education. He nearly doubled spending and you have people like Ted Kennedy calling him "anti-education" and calling for even more spending.
So the leftists will continue to support Kennedy, and the mindless middle will continue to view Bush as anti-education.

I wish I was President. Or any Freeper. I can't stand reading about this. It makes me want to toss all the meals I've had this week.
I will vote for Bush, but I hate this crap!
To: COEXERJ145
Yes, but notice WAS NOT the President who request the $10 million. For those on this thread screaming about the President... STOP IT! and write your congressman.
