Tonight I saw a Bush campign staffer on TV say it has been hard to prep for the debates because Kerry has taken so many stances on the issues. LOL!

Tomorrow Diane will ask Kerry if he believes what Teresa said about Osama being broought out in October, can't WAIT for that answer!

If President Bush misled the American people in 2003, John Kerry misled Bill Clinton in 1998. As much as I loathe Bill Clinton, one cannot escape this fact that it was John Kerry and 18 other DEMOCRAT Senators calling for the total ouster of power of Saddam Hussein in a letter to the White House in 1998. Calling Saddam not a "growing threat" (As Bush called Saddam), but an "imminent threat" (As many Democrats mischaracterize Bush as saying in his 2003 SOTU address).

Add to that the little tidbit that in '97 Kerry was on CNN saying that Clinton needed to deal forcefully with Iraq REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE UN SAID!

He was endorsing unilateral, pre-emptive regime change pre 9/11.

In '98 on ABC he was endorsing American boots on the ground in Iraq.

If the president doesn't either make a commercial or bring it up in the debates it will be a huge missed opportunity.

Thanks, Howlin...what I see in this is typical Kerry...there's something for EVERYBODY, no matter their position on Iraq. Just reach into the grab bag for a slashing line here, a nuance there - hawkish, dovish, unilateralist, multilateralist, right wrong right wrong right wrong...

A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It's obvious he planned to run for President as soon as albore lost. Even while giving this long-winded statement, he tried to inject loop holes to use against GWB in the future. Unfortunately for him, when he realized the country favored war, he backed it 100% so all the ifs and buts in his rationale for war were forgotten.

His latest position even had Brit's panel scratching their heads to make sense out of. I'm not sure if he's trying to convince us or himself that he voted for the Biden-Lugar resolution and the President failed to meet those requirements. He tells us that if he were President he would not have removed Saddam but would have contained him and then blames the President for residing in cuckoo land? The range of contradictions in this man is truly mind boggling but I'm confident if he were President, we'd still be working on the resolution to use force against Iraq.

BTW the media has hyped the debate to chicken little proportions. If I were either candidate, I'd be terrified to open my mouth.

Thank you for Pinging! Please ping us when the Debate Live Thread begins tonight, thank you!

Perhaps Kerry was actually attending Intelligence meetings at the time he made these statements? (Yes, that was sarcastic!) Kerry's Senate absences make him ill informed on defense issues and threats. The Bush campaign should be able to draw a parallel between his inconsistencies and his Senate attendance as they've done with his anti defense spending votes.
