From Kay's testimony:

Let me begin by saying, we were almost all wrong, and I certainly include myself here.

Sen. [Edward] Kennedy knows very directly. Senator Kennedy and I talked on several occasions prior to the war that my view was that the best evidence that I had seen was that Iraq indeed had weapons of mass destruction.

I would also point out that many governments that chose not to support this war -- certainly, the French president, [Jacques] Chirac, as I recall in April of last year, referred to Iraq's possession of WMD.

The Germans certainly -- the intelligence service believed that there were WMD.

It turns out that we were all wrong, probably in my judgment, and that is most disturbing.

Oh, I see. Now it's "almost all" and "probably". Frankly I think this is going to be another rope-a-dope by President Bush. He loves to see the idiots make fools of themselves, and they always do. WMD will be found and so will Osama. "Probably" about August.

So, the U.N. (France, German, Anglosphere) was wrong to have sanctions in recent years? Or Saddam's scientists had him 'fooled' into thinking they were making WMD when they didn't, including delaying and shuffling tactics when inspectors showed up?

You know, it's a real crazy quilt. None of it is rational.

We really can't believe all these parties. Somewhere in all this, a really big lie from someone (we don't know who) is sitting, waiting to be found.

Or the WMD are in Syria or buried in the desert. Even that doesn't really add up though.

Well, I'm not sure it matters for the '04 election. People just don't care about it now. Longterm diplomacy will be affected but the diplomats all seem far more confused than usual too.

You'd think we could get a straight answer a little easier than this.

I read that already Huck. You are not pointing out anything new to me there. It still is not necessarily the truth. Are you missing that fact? Do you believe everything that everyone says? The reality is that we may never know what the reality was.
